A Nice Walk ( with photos )

Today we walked on the old railway / ATV track. It was sunny and 12 degrees Celsius.
We only met up with 4 different people. Two of them with dogs.

We also saw lobster boats putting out their lobster traps.

We walked 5 kilometres. We took turns lounging on the hammock beside the picnic table. It was a great walk.
Have a nice day.

P.S. Black cows grazing at the side of the road on the way back home.

Yesterday we went for a walk but I forgot to take pictures. Today we went to the park. There were a lot of people there. It looks like they were opening up the park for camping. They were setting up trail maps and getting firewood ready.
We walked along the hiking trail which was a mistake. It was very wet. My shoes got soaked.

It’s mainly cloudy today and 10 degrees.
We met up with another walker. He was about our age but was power walking.

This is the remains of a house from hundreds of years ago. Here’s a bit of history of the park itself.

This traditional Mi'kmaq portage route between the Atlantic Ocean and Bras d'Or Lakes saw the rise and fall of a French trading post, settlement, and British hill-top fort. Today you can visit the canal and locks, which permanently linked the two waterways in a feat of 19th-century engineering.

Theres even a lighthouse at the park.

Anyway, we walked about 3 kilometres metres.

Have a lovely day.

Today we walked the ATV trail right by the Atlantic Ocean but decided to go the opposite way than we normally go. I’m glad we did. It’s a lot more scenic the other way.
There are a few bridges to take photos of.

This will need to be a double posting for this walk since there was so much to see.

We saw many different birds. One was a grey heron. It was a bit boring while it was just sitting there but once it took off I got all kinds of interesting photos. This is my favourite.

We only saw one other person walking 3 big dogs but we didn’t catch up to them. They were ahead of us by quite a bit.
Our dogs loved this walk. It was 15 or 16 degrees with a nice cool breeze coming in from the ocean.

The walk was 4.7 kilometres metres in total. We both wore baseball caps to keep the sun out of our eyes. We both have polarized eye glasses but near the water it’s not enough.

This was a very pleasant walk today. It was very bright and uplifting. I hope you have a nice day.

Today we walked on the opposite side of the forest beside the school. We met up with 12 different people. One person by himself, another male working on the baseball field, a couple of ladies with 4 children under 5 ( kids are LOUD ) 😬, another guy walking by himself , a another lady with a big dog, and 2 other ladies with a small dog. All of them were very friendly.

Here are some photos of the walk. It was 26 today. Our dogs went into the river to cool themselves off.

Here are some big dandelions.

Today we walked on the ATV trail along the Atlantic Ocean. We went the opposite way we did the last time and didn’t see a soul.

We saw three lobster boats checking their lobster traps.

IMG_9019.jpegIMG_9017.jpegOn the way back we saw a bright yellow bird. We automatically assumed it was a goldfinch but it wasn’t. It didn’t have enough black colour in its wings. We looked it up and discovered it was a yellow warbler.

Black Angus beef cattle, prime eating. Those look to be yearlings. JIM.

Took a walk at Fort Funston beach, in San Francisco today. Only took one photo but had a nice long walk with no problems with my back as I'd been suffering from recently. Hallelujah! We arrived during a low tide it was easy to walk the beach to the North path back up. No pics of Ember this time but she was with me the whole way.
