A Nice Walk ( with photos )

It’s 24 degrees and sunny. We drove to the forest walk and had a great time. IMG_9880.jpeg

There’s been such a lack of rain that the streams are drying all out.

On the way back we met an old guy with a large labradoodle. We stopped and went off to the side of the path to give him the right of way. He stopped where he was and asked if we’d give him a few minutes to turn around and head out. What a sweetie pie. He told us that he’d hurt his shoulder the night before and not sure if he could handle his dog pulling. We appreciated his honesty. What a nice guy.

Hope you have a lovely day.

I took the photo with my phone …

Copied this info ….to post as the fountain … Was created by Royal Doulton. ( Photo) ^^^

The Hankinson Memorial Fountain is a ceramic fountain created by Royal Doulton. It is located in Narrandera within the Memorial Gardens at the junction of East Street and Victoria Avenue. There are only two of these fountains known to exist ……the other being in Pakistan.

The ceramic Royal Doulton fountain was presented to the people of Narrandera by Alderman RH and Mrs Hankinson in 1922 in honour of all those in Narrandera and District who served in the Great War 1914-1918. The fountain remains a fitting tribute to Mr Hankinson, who stands in local history as one of the area's most civic-minded citizens.

It was a warm summer day with a high of 25 Celsius . Since we had to go to the bank anyway, we went for a walk in the forest. It’s a lot cooler there.

This last picture is a place where both our dogs go into the water to cool off or get a drink. It’s about a 3 kilometre walk. We didn’t see anyone today.

Have a nice day.

Today was sunny and 22 degrees. It’s a beautiful day so we went on the old railroad track made into a pathway along the Atlantic coat. We took some water for our dogs.

Today we walked in the forest trail. It’s 23 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze.

Today was Sunday so the path was busier than usual. We passed quite a few people and saw a bicyclist today. We don’t see many bicycles on this path. It’s not really bicycle friendly.

Today was sunny with a high of 23. We walked along the forest trail . IMG_9980.jpegIMG_9981.jpegAs of tomorrow we are no longer able to walk along any forest paths due to fire bans. All trails in Nova Scotia are closed. Boo! We will have to find some different places to walk.

Here is someone’s sailboat on the water this morning.

I heard about the ban on not only having fires but also about people being in forested areas for any sort of recreational purposes. That's too bad because I know you guys love your daily walks. I know you can problably find other non-forested walking routes but it's not the same as the atmosphere of walking through the forest.

The wild fire situation in Canada this summer is shocking with currently over 700 wild fires burning and likely to become even worst before any relief is seen. Very dry this summer in most of the country which is the reason and of course much of Canada is forested area.

Hopefully we'll see more rain come Sept. 🙏

That’s right. Unfortunately all paths we now go through ARE forested areas. The only paths we can walk on are own paths. For a while we wondered where we could walk. All places we walk are now prohibited. There are two beach walks we an go on and our own forest walks but that’s it. I wonder how long this walk restrictions are on for? Do you know? It’s depressing already.

They haven't said but if I were to venture a guess, based on typical seasonal climate change dates, I would say mid-Sept.? Of course that could change if you start getting some storms coming up in mid-late Aug. Hurricane season will be starting soon and some of them end up as tropical depressions along Canada's east coast, as I'm sure you are well aware 😬

This is pretty much what my husband said.
Thanks MrPants!

This morning we woke up to a faulty coffee maker. After 4 years of continuous use our Keurig coffee maker stopped working. We could have gone to our closest city and purchased one but decided to go to Sydney to get a new one.

Anyway we spotted 2 eagles on the way but our pictures aren’t good enough to post. It’s a fairly scenic drive IMG_0005.jpeg
After we bought our new coffee maker we went for a walk on the boardwalk. IMG_0006.jpeg

At the end of the boardwalk there was a monument. IMG_0008.jpeg
We then went to look at the biggest fiddle in the world.

It was a warm day, 26 degrees Celsius. We stopped to eat lunch before heading back home.

Saw you went to the city and walked. That’s what I was going to suggest. Anything different is therapeutic. We do downtown walks, usually when the shops are closed. It’s a different way to view where you live.

That’s a good idea but we generally do our walking in the mornings. We’ll figure something out.

This morning’ we walked at the back of our property. My husband made some paths with the atv trail. I find them difficult to walk on. They are much easier to walk on in the winter once the snow falls. It covers up all the rocks and branches. That’s after my husband has made trails with the atv.

This is our wood chipper that my husband uses to make mulch for our gardens. There is one pile of wood. We have about 12 piles of wood stacked and drying for our Woodstove.

These trails go back and forth along the width of our property and stop a full kilometre behind our house. It’s clearly marked with ribbons on the trees.
