A SENIORS PERSPECTIVE OF FACEBOOK.

For those of my generation who do not, and cannot, comprehend why Facebook exists:

I am trying to make friends outside of Facebook while applying the same principles.

Therefore, every day I walk down the street and tell passersby what I have eaten,

how I feel at the moment, what I have done the night before, what I will do later and with whom.

I give them pictures of my family, my dog, and of me gardening, taking things apart

in the garage, watering the lawn, standing in front of landmarks, driving around town,

having lunch, and doing what anybody and everybody does every day.

I also listen to their conversations, give them the "thumbs up" and tell them I like them.
And it works just like Facebook.
I already have four people following me: two police officers, a private investigator and a psychiatrist.

Sassy that's funny, and I'm not a member of Facebook, but I've been thinking about this, and it sounds pretty much like what my relatives used to do when we would go visiting each other back when I was a kid, except for the pictures.

Pictures weren't so easy or cheap back then, and describing situations with words allowed folks to kill time. It seemed like there was an obligatory period of time you had to spend, proportional to how far away you had to travel to get there. Many times you'd run out of things to say before time was up.

Sorry to get serious. Just a thought.

The only thing missing is the paid advertising.

Remember to wear a sandwich-board with your sponsor's message on it while you do all those things.

And then give everyone a virus.

ha ha ha ha love it, I’m not a Facebook member either
I heard that one british ‘celeb’ told the world she was late taking her kid to school and realised she had toothpaste down her top.......who cares ?

I have a FB account but I have it to keep up with the latest pics and doings of the "grands" Also my high school class has a page and I can connect with some of them I have not seen in years. What gets me about them is that a lot of them that shunned my little circle of friends while in school all of a sudden are my best friends! My group studied hard and got good grades and did not travel in their circle as we did not have a rich family or a lot of money. Now they seem to think I am one of them. Not! If I wasn't good enough then then I don't care to be one of them now. Guess age mellows us. I don't post much at all, just read their posts and how they want everybody to know every detail of their life!. I look at the page every couple of weeks to keep up with who died, etc.
