Air Force Base Takes Down Nativity Scene Following Complaint

Wasn't it last year that Santa got in trouble for saying Ho Ho Ho when some woman walked by him, because she thought he was making rude comments about her.

If people don't like the singing of Christmas Carols, just move on folks. I'm so sick and tired of people being offended by this or that and it's always asinine stuff.

I'm not even religious, but I never try to force my views on other people. Let people celebrate how they want or not.

But now we get into it's a private company that serves the public, they can make up their own rules. But who in the heck are their customers ??

It really turns me off when a business won't even let their employees say Merry Christmas to people if they want to.

Well, he should have been arrested for sexual harassment, stripped of his Santa title and beard and demoted to feeding, grooming and cleaning the reindeer stalls.
 
See, this is why I get confused.... The constitution states that you can freedom of religion while at the same time banning it?? Huh?

Rake says the Military Religious Freedom Foundation lodged a complaint about the display through the Air Force in Washington.

Paul Loebe, spokesman for the foundation, said the Nativity scene was in violation of the Constitution.

“It was very sectarian in nature and a direct violation of the US Constitution as well as a blatant violation of Air Force Instruction 1-1 Section 2.11,” Loebe said in a statement.

Some people interpret freedom of religion as freedom from religion.

There is nothing in a nativity scene that is offensive to other faiths.

I am personally thoroughly fed up with endless Victorian era Christmas scenes full of snowmen, reindeer and red breasted robins but most people love them so who am I to object? In the same vein, why object to a scene depicting a mythical birth scenario in a far off country?

People should save their energy for righting real wrongs and fighting real injustices, of which they have an abundance to choose from.

I don't care much either way about these nativity scenes, etc. Never was an issue anyway 'till all this "PC" crapola started. :rolleyes:

Christmas for me anymore is a non-issue..It started with the retailers push in October, now it's June or July. By Christmas I am sick, sick, sick of all the commercials, hype and people killing and maiming each other for the latest must haves.

All the PC crap escalating to greater heights year after year, has finished off any glimmer of Christmas spirit that may have been lurking, and now frankly my dear, I don't give a damned! My goal is to see that retailers don't make one thin dime off of me for their stupid hazarai.

Bah Humbug! All that I see Christmas for now is a commercial enterprise and a stage for the PC loonies that are trying and doing a good job of taking down every tradition in this country.
