".....to families of Sandy Hook massacre victims.

Alex Jones spread lies about the Sandy Hook shooting on his Infowars show"

"Six adults and 20 children were killed during the shooting in December 2012 in Newtown, Connecticut, just 20 miles away from where victims' families gave tearful testimony in Waterbury Superior Court during the trial. "

"Jones repeatedly told millions of listeners on his Infowars show that the shooting was a hoax and the victims were crisis actors hired as part of a scheme to impose gun control laws. "

"The parents and siblings of the victims testified that they were subjected to relentless harassment and abuse from people who believe Jones' lies. "....

You know, those conspiracy nut-jobs.

How in the bleep could anyone believe that Sandy Hook was a hoax? Just by listening to this individual? Scary.

It IS scary. There are people who just love these stories, who believe every sh*t-show they see on YouTube. There are Forums for these nutters. They feel "special" learning something the general public "doesn't know about".

I've been following this, and saw the jurors verdict earlier today... but I kept thinking.. there's no chance they'll get anything at all from him becausse he's already declared bankruptcy.. so I don't know how the law works in the USA.. what will happen now ?... These parents are seriously broken from the last 10 years of abuse being meted out to them due to Alex Jones conspiracy lies... how are they going to be recompensed for this if he can't pay ?

Yes, millions of conspiracy nut jobs loose in this country right now, it's beyond scary.

Manipulating the mental health of the masses for power and profit: kind of makes one glad to be up in years and closer to deliverance from what has become hell on earth.

This idiot probably moved his wealth to the Cayman Islands or Switzerland, where it can stay well hidden. About the only ones who might see some money are his lawyers.
My question is, did Alex even asked to be supplied with or shown the death certificates? Of course not. Even if he was shown them he would have claimed the govt. forged them. How in the name of creation could people believe it was a hoax?

He apparently moved $65 million over to some protected account. However...

"Alex Jones will still likely have to pay victims' families in his Sandy Hook defamation cases despite Infowars filing for bankruptcy, lawyer says

Infowars founder Alex Jones interacts with supporters at the Texas State Capital building on April 18, 2020 in Austin, Texas. The protest was organized by Infowars host Owen Shroyer who is joining other protesters across the country in taking to the streets to call for the country to be opened up despite the risk of the COVID-19.

  • InfoWars, the far-right conspiracy website owned by Alex Jones, filed for bankruptcy Sunday.
  • But that likely won't shield Jones from paying out in his Sandy Hook defamation lawsuits, a bankruptcy lawyer told Insider.
  • Jones has been found liable in at least four defamation cases brought against him.
Alex Jones, the far-right conspiracy theorist and owner of InfoWars, will likely still have to pay victims' families in his Sandy Hook defamation cases despite his companies filing for bankruptcy, a bankruptcy lawyer told Insider.
InfoWars filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the Texas Southern District Court on Sunday, according to court filings seen by Insider. Jones' other business entities including Prison Planet TV and IW Health also filed for protection Sunday.

Under a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, Jones would be able to continue to own and run his companies while proposing a reorganization to be voted on by his creditors.
Jones is currently embroiled in multiple defamation lawsuits in both Texas and Connecticut filed by family members of victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting.
The mass shooting at an elementary school left 26 people dead — including 20 first-graders. The families accused Jones of defaming them by repeatedly spreading the baseless conspiracy theory that they were actors staging a "giant hoax" and that the killings never occurred.
Filing for bankruptcy puts an immediate stay on all civil proceedings, but Jones will likely still have to pay families involved in the cases, Stephen Starr, a Manhattan-based bankruptcy owner and Member of Starr and Starr PLC told Insider.
"He's not going to get off the hook," Starr said.

Starr explained that 30 days from InfoWars' bankruptcy filing, the creditors will meet to review their proposal. Following that meeting, any creditor can file a lawsuit to the bankruptcy court calling on the judge to not discharge certain debts.
This means that families who are owed by Jones from one of the defamation suits will be able to request that he should still have to pay those debts because he performed "willful injury" to the plaintiffs in the defamation cases, Starr said."

Couldn't happen to a more deserving person. Let him live on the street. He can then spout his insane theories to anyone who wishes to put a couple of dollars in his hat. NO punishment is severe enough for someone who made millions off of the grief of the poor parents who lost their children. He is below scum.

@ohioboy, did you happen to see the part in this case where Jones' atty sent a huge file of emails and texts to the Plaintiff's atty by mistake? In those documents were references to Sandy Hook that Jones swore under oath did not exist.

"Plaintiffs' attorney Mark Bankston told Alex Jones that his attorney messed up and sent him Jones' entire cell phone history. "Did you know that your lawyers messed up and sent me your entire cell phone texting history 12 days ago?" Bankston asked Jones. "You know what perjury is right?""

I listened to him a few times and just figured him a nut case and a cook. I saw his show as a tabloid and make believe journalism show, and opinion not to be taken seriously; a lot like the National inquirer. Seems like he went too far.

Can Jones go to jail for perjury and if so, for how long.
Yes, a person can commit Perjury in a Civil suit, either written or orally. A note about perjury in a civil suit, that is not apt to be prosecuted as in a criminal trial, but it still can be. How long? Depends on the State law, though Bankruptcy perjury is a Federal crime.

As far as a Bankruptcy Petition is concerned, it is filed under penalty of perjury and is investigated by the F.B.I. if deceit or fraud etc. are questioned.
