All of the customs we follow- and everybody does it.

LOL..well there ya go... not always right and wrong again my little chikadee..:sneaky: tops like that on the stockings hold up very neatly with the suspenders.. I remember well...
Been a while since I wore those but it would seem that the lace would hide latex that made the suspenders unnecessary. But to each, their own, I guess.

It would seem to be nearly the equivalent of a man wearing braces and a belt. Although some do.

some people think this is need to belong..... i think it is silly.......
i never understood how many people bought decor etc every holiday ...if you store it nicely you can find for following years but can not tell you how many people i know that FOUND all those decorations when they are moving etc....
went to a thrift store recently and was laughing at all the Easter etc....they have cleaned out of some ones home never used....

I also have no need to buy any holiday stuff .... or follow any made up traditions pushed by media or advertising.....

i wonder with the neighbors who spend a month putting up holiday scenes or decorations .... do they get that much enjoyment of all the work / cost etc or is it all about keeping up appearances.
While I know what you mean, I think a lot of it has to do with delighting their children, making memories for them, etc.

I can also agree that some people just want to outdo or keep up with the Jones.

You’re right, I stand corrected. And suspenders like those, well, they blow my skirt up and if I knew a lady were wearing them, I’d hope that her skirt be blown up too! But those stockings weren’t made for wearing with suspenders, or I don’t think so. Lacy tops wouldn’t fare well against the clasps. You say tomato, I say an edible red fruit that goes well in many dishes.
Garter belts are suspenders for stockings. Gosh, you don't know much about girls, do you?

I'm afraid to say that I did not raise my children with religion, I chose to raise them with all the commercial holidays.

When they were little, My husband and I used to make a huge fuss about Easter and Christmas.
At Easter, they had to follow the talcum powder footprints of the Easter Bunny to find the chocolate easter eggs.

On Christmas eve we would leave out the cookies and milk for Santa and a carrot for the Boomers, Then when we were sure they were just about ready to doze off, Terry and I got out our bells and torches with red cellophane of them and rang them as well as slowly raising the torch high into the sky.
We would then make sleigh tracks by running an old bike rim in the ground.

The kids loved it and would always dash outside to see if the Boomers ate the carrot, to find a half-chewed Carrot and a thankyou note from the boomers.

It warms my heart that my daughter has continued these traditions m

Where I live men with large bellies wear suspenders to keep their pants in place. P Belts are a great concept, however if you lack the bottom to hold your pants up, often times a belt doesn’t help. My son unfortunately no matter how heavy he gets lacks in that department, so he’s not ready for suspenders nor does a belt work.

Maybe that's something men don't have to know? One peek at my wife's shoes and I got shushed out of the closet. Still don't even know some of them things are called. :ROFLMAO:
The overwhelming majority of customers to my store were men.

Yes, men can wear garters too but if they had lace tops, it seems that just the plain, reinforced top would hold up better against a garter belt's button.

Notice, no lace top.
