All Things Pagan Thread

My eldest son is a witch also and this meme reminds me, much to my amusement, of our respective approaches.

The "me" in this scenario is my son. I can be like this at times, but this is his preferred approach. He's just direct like that. 😂

The Yule season is over, for me anyway. So, I've put the trees away and resumed my regular activities, one of which is shadow work. Today I was working on the virtues I value within myself and in my relationships. Authenticity is not listed below, but it is important to me and is far above honesty, which can actually be harmful when misused. And loyalty; that's huge. I am loyal and I want that back.

I am very blessed because I have these things in my relationships and I'm just here taking a moment to be grateful. ❤️

My wish is that we all find the virtues we value in ourselves and those we cherish. 🤗

The Wolf Moon, and first full moon of the year was last night and peaked early this morning, EST.

I don't follow the moon cycles, usually, and I only knew about this one because @debodun mentioned it in a different thread.

But it is actually pretty cool.

Okay, it's way, way early for this, but I have discovered Lupercalia and I'm just all about it now and anticipating the day. Lupercalia is -- well I actually knew it existed previous - seriously, caught it on, "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina," thought it looked cool, but only very recently looked into it when thinking about the next holiday coming up, which is Valentines Day.

So Lupercalia is an ancient Roman festival held on the 15th of February. There is chatter about it being another Pagan holiday appropriated by the Catholic church, but there's some differing opinions there and really, I don't care. I mean, it probably was, but, whatever.

This holiday, being a celebration of fertility, purification, and wolves (or a specific wolf, the mother wolf said to have nursed the twin founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus).

Anyway, this day is all about passion, blood (for real), fertility, maniacal laughter and running through the streets naked whipping people with goat skins (okay, that one's a bit out there), and sex.

Seriously, where has this day been all my life?

I love Valentine's Day and I'll be remembering friends and family with little cards and treats.

But my partners are getting Lupercalia cards, some form of milk (probably a coco mix to make with milk) and chocolates. And cookies, I found a recipe for love spell cookies which look like cute little hearts with dark swirls. PSA: Don't look up "sex spell cookies" on Pinterest. You'll have to bleach your retinas.
