America is being "Silenced"

It's a given that most of our politicians are in the hip pockets of the wealthy. Now, the institutions which have traditionally been charged with monitoring their activities are Also being "bought out", by these very same wealthy individuals and corporations. It is reaching the point where we cannot trust much of the information that is "allowed" to be released to us. This does not bode well for our futures.

And in addition, every single news outlet is owned by only SIX corporations, is it a wonder they are deciding what we should be told and how it should be spun? Yes.. I am afraid they have won.

What's going on definitely stinks, you have to read these things on alternative news sources, as QS mentioned, the truth won't be told by the main stream media news. The ones to suffer thought all this corruption and deceit are the American citizens.

The only reason I listen to the mainstream media is to hear what they are leaving out or how they are twisting the facts to meet specific agendas. I learned to do that after watching a documentary called 'Big Boys Gone Bananas' which was about Dole Fruit company going after and smearing the reputation of a documentary film maker who was merely reporting on how they sprayed pesticides onto their fields knowing full well that the workers were in there working. I began paying better attention to news stories after that and looking to see if they are credible. Result: they aren't credible far too often and they're damn lazy now. Real journalism is too often in the dead zone.

I think our one saving grace is the largely unregulated internet, which gives voice for people to call out the reprehensible forces of money and power. I might also add the fact that an image every event anywhere all the time is being recorded has done a lot to reveal wrong doing. Oh yes and then there are DNA fingerprints. I just wish there were more ways to reward and protect whistle blowers.

This is true... but they are trying to regulate what we can see.. So far unsucessfully, but do you think they will stop? AND what is our recourse? None I'm afraid.

This is one thing I think we all can agree on that basically all we are getting in the mainstream media including fox is some what on the fiction side or down right Propaganda. This is unsettling times for all, and some relate it to the Hitler era.

Couldn't agree more. The internet must remain free, even though this leads to some abuse.
Go after the abuse, not the net because we need it.
