Moscow has condemned the seizure, labeling it a violation of international maritime law and "outright piracy".
1. The ship had been pursued for two weeks since it slipped past a blockade near Venezuela.
2. The ship has been sanctioned since 2024 for smuggling and was linked to Hezbollah.
3. The ship left the Caribbean under a Guyana flag but later re-registered as Russian.
.... And #4....
"UK Defence Secretary John Healey said it had a "nefarious history" and was "part of a Russian-Iranian axis of sanctions evasion which is fuelling terrorism, conflict, and misery from the Middle East to Ukraine".

I don't understand the US's rights (under international law) to seize tankers from Venezuela.

"The Russian Ministry of Transport affirmed that the tanker 'was granted temporary permission' to sail under the Russian flag on Dec. 24, 2025, in a post translated and shared by the Russian Foreign Ministry. Citing international law, the ministry added, 'no state has the right to use force against vessels duly registered in the jurisdictions of other states'."

From what I’ve read, the United States imposed the sanctions and the United States is taking the action to seize the tankers.

It seems like a pretty thin defense to me that anyone can point the finger and then take action based on their own accusations.

In fairness, a few other countries support the United States sanctions but I really don’t see them as any sort of international law.

I don’t think Palestine was bombed.

Donald Trump did not order U.S. bombings of Palestine (Gaza or the West Bank).

What did happen:

  • Israel carried out airstrikes in Gaza during Trump’s presidency.
  • The U.S. supported Israel politically and with military aid, but U.S. forces did not bomb Palestine.
  • Trump did order U.S. airstrikes in other countries (like Syria and Iraq), just not Palestine.
So when people say “Trump bombed Palestine,” that’s not literally true. They’re usually criticizing U.S. support for Israel, not U.S. bombs being dropped there.
My cousin is the brightest person I've ever known, funny I thought her mother was until her daughter grew up.

By this statement are you saying that you are in favor of world domination? You don't believe that world domination is the goal but you pray that you're wrong?
Oh my goodness, I can see why you ask the question. I guess I should thank you for the chance to clarify.😁 What I meant: I don't believe that world domination is the goal, PERIOD.
