American airstrikes on Venezuela, with Chinooks possibly flying in US military personnel.

I don’t think Palestine was bombed.

Donald Trump did not order U.S. bombings of Palestine (Gaza or the West Bank).

What did happen:

  • Israel carried out airstrikes in Gaza during Trump’s presidency.
  • The U.S. supported Israel politically and with military aid, but U.S. forces did not bomb Palestine.
  • Trump did order U.S. airstrikes in other countries (like Syria and Iraq), just not Palestine.
So when people say “Trump bombed Palestine,” that’s not literally true. They’re usually criticizing U.S. support for Israel, not U.S. bombs being dropped there.
While he may not have ordered it, he also didn't lift a finger to stop it.

Gotta wonder what kind of support we'll offer the Venezuelans. Perhaps we'll throw them a few rolls of paper towels...

States invaded Iraq for WMDs...a lie.
They just invaded Venezuela over drugs...a lie.
They will annex Canada over the lie of border security.

Get rid of corrupt dictators who cater to the drug cartels. While I don't like the idea of war at all, I guess mankind in general disagrees with me entirely.
Drug cartels, pirates, and other criminal tribes do not hesitate to commit rape, torture, and murder with violence in addition to their other crimes. Dictators who abet and/or collude with them for money and power are equally criminal.

I do not disagree with you. There is no place in a civilized world for dictators, particularly those who allow their people to suffer hunger, fear, "disappearances," and deprivation.

Unfortunately, the rules and standards of what's called International Law actually prohibits or at least severely hinders one nation from getting rid of the dictators of another unless they have an official indictment or other powerful legal tool, and/or the approval of the UN, and they do it within the constructs of International Law. The process can take years of hearings, meetings, arguments, and adjudications.

HOWEVER, no country is required to abide by International Law. Not many people know that. And there's no means to enforce it...there's no such thing as an International Law Police Force. Obedience is not required, only encouraged.

International Laws are merely guidelines for keeping the world civilized and fair. And you can bet your sweet Bippy that exactly zero criminal dictators obey the rules and standards of International Law.

... Trumps says the US will be running Venezuela and ...oh yes, oil.
In Trump's words ... US companies are now going to go into the country and make Venezuela rich.
Is this legal under International Law ?
Yes, the American oil companies that built Venezuela's oil extractors, transporters, and refineries can now rebuild the infrastructure as needed and start pumping and selling all the excess oil, enriching Venezuelan people's lives, providing thousands of jobs, supporting the economy.

Please look up International Law.

I'm begging everyone to look up International Law. Please!

More likely, enriching American oil companies' coffers. Perhaps I seem jaded, but we've all seen this movie before...

If Canada is annexed then US will likely lose significant allies including UK, Australia and New Zealand.
To me, this is unthinkable.

Is Canada part of NATO? Would that offer protection?

I doubt that NATO would do much.

NATO is focused on outside aggression by nonmembers as opposed to squabbles between member nations.

Sadly, the only nation that would lead much of a significant defense or protection of a member nation would likely be the United States.

IMO it could happen with a great deal of noise and bluster but little resistance.

My concern over all of this is that the United States will deplete it’s resources with these proposed regime changes, annexations, takeovers, etc… and when the time is right another global power will come after us.

A little more info on the abduction of Maduro...

During the U.S. military operation to capture Nicolás Maduro on January 3, 2026, reports indicate that between 55 and 80 people were killed.
Specific casualty details from official and journalistic sources include:
  • Total Deaths: While initial reports estimated at least 40 deaths, later figures from Venezuelan and Cuban officials placed the total at roughly 55 to 80 people.
  • Cuban Personnel: The Cuban government officially confirmed that 32 of its citizens were killed. These individuals were described as members of Cuba's armed forces and intelligence agencies who were serving as Maduro's personal security detail.
  • Venezuelan Forces: The Venezuelan military reported that at least 24 security officers were killed in the raid. General Vladimir Padrino López stated that a "large part" of the presidential guard was eliminated during the attack.
  • Civilians: Reports indicate that several civilians were among the dead, though an exact total remains unconfirmed. Specific incidents included a strike on a civilian apartment complex in Catia La Mar and a fatality in El Hatillo.
  • U.S. Casualties: U.S. military officials stated that no Americans were killed during the operation. About six U.S. soldiers were reportedly injured.
This operation, which involved approximately 150 aircraft and nearly 200 Special Operations forces, followed a series of previous U.S. strikes on alleged drug-running vessels in the Caribbean that had killed more than 100 people since September 2025.

Such an outcome could be possible.

It is a very concerning scenario.

Would US still have all of the traditional allies?

ANZUS? AUKUS? NATO?

Who knows? The future is always the undiscovered country.

Yes, most if not all of Mr and Mrs Maduro's security people, drivers, and personal secretaries, and some in law enforcement and the military are Cuban, not Venezuelan; assigned and sent by former Cuban president Fidel Castro, renewed and reinforced as needed by current Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel.

I don't know about you, but to me, that's suspect. And I don't trust the numbers coming from "official and journalistic sources." If the Venezuelan people's new president or presidential official is able to obtain the numbers, I'll believe them.

The only way that the United States would annex Canada would be if Canada requested it, in my opinion. There are some of the Canadian people who have said that they would like to be connected to the US , since we already protect Canada, and help them when they have needed help.
Most of the Canadian population is fairly close to the border with the US, and not further north into Canada .
So, if Canada asked to become part of the US territories in some form or another, I believe that we would work something out with them that helped both Canada and the United States.

I have yet to hear of a single Canadian who wants their country to be annexed by the US. Not saying there wouldn't be some among the more than 41 million residents, but they'd be few and far between.

However, if asked if the US should be annexed by Canada, I'm betting a whole lot of Americans would be all in on that!
