Put in some serious thought into this double replacement.That's impressive. How long before he could walk on his own? With a cane or unaided?
I found that some people do get both knees done at the same time. I will talk with my Dr about that, I can sure see a benefit to a single recovery period. Apparently about 6% of knee replacements are doubles.

When you have one done at a time, you have the other knee and side for strength.
In something simple like stairs......go down with the good, up with the bad......or is it the other way around
Really could not imagine both joints done at the same time......i think you're playing in fire.....and a tremendous pain by doing both at once.
