Hahahaha! Teachers arn't allowed to give a naughty child a spanking anymore, are they!?!
Is it a case of "no one knows the answer" to the thread title, so it will remain one of life's little mysteries forever?Interesting; I tried uploading it to google images and it didn't find anything.
Not that I am aware of, Gaer.Hahahaha! Teachers arn't allowed to give a naughty child a spanking anymore, are they!?!
Mums aren't either in Scotland. Not that I am aware of, Gaer.
I think it's for the better.
I'd like to see it fade away with the times, Grahamg.Mums aren't either in Scotland..
Sorry I can't agree with the state interfering further in peoples private lives, so very far has it gone already, and needs rolling back a bit in my view, and our former prime minister Tony Blair said he'd smacked his child, (whilst rightly refusing to reveal much else about his own private life).I'd like to see it fade away with the times, Grahamg.
I don't support it either, but I like to believe that refreshed polices and laws are a good thing when it comes to the well-being of children.Sorry I can't agree with the state interfering further in peoples private lives, so very far has it gone already, and needs rolling back a bit in my view, and our former prime minister Tony Blair said he'd smacked his child, (whilst rightly refusing to reveal much else about his own private life).
Sometimes progress isn't always heading in one direction, or the same direction, forcing everyone to accept one view of parenting, especially when in truth psychological means of controlling a child can be far more pervasive, and damaging I'd say, than the very mild smacking permitted in most of the UK now.
Mild smacking? People in my profession don’t believe such a thing exists, even if it did, how would u enforce it, cameras in every household which harbours children? We believe hitting children is wrong, a form of abuse, instilling fear, resentment, and a belief that violence gets you what you want if you are big and strong enough. As for psychological means of controlling children being worse, spanking is overtly psychological. Anything which attempts to modify behaviour is. If it takes governmental interference to protect children from physical violence in any form, bring it on....Sorry I can't agree with the state interfering further in peoples private lives, so very far has it gone already, and needs rolling back a bit in my view, and our former prime minister Tony Blair said he'd smacked his child, (whilst rightly refusing to reveal much else about his own private life).

Because you are a professional of some kind does not make you right all, (if you're suggesting you are, just need to check, as I come across those speaking for other's so must be careful not to make the same mistake). Our UK government currently disagrees with you, and a mild smack they say is one that does not leave a mark, and they dont seem concerned about the policing of such a policy, and if our former prime minister saying he did it is not good enough for you, and all kinds of good people on this forum have said they've administered a smack, (as have I when I felt my child was putting herself in danger).Apologies for a mini hijacking of this thread, but I would like to make a strong statement here.

I haven't given up yet. There is a multicultural group in town. They help immigrants. I'm sure they will have the answer.Ah well, thanks for trying y’all.![]()
It's not Hoca. It's Hoba.Well now that I know the size of it and that "HOCA" returns me with "teacher", it makes me wonder if the spoon wasn't intended for discipline.
Okay, thanks, Camper. It's not Hoca. It's Hoba.
