Anyone planning on seeing the Elvis movie?

Definitely not an Elvis fan, although I have been to his mansion. I really wouldn't call his house in Graceland a mansion. It's not very big for a mansion, but whatever. The best part of the tour for me was the car barn. I think he appealed more to the female audiences than the males. I will say that he did have a great voice.
 
I may rent the disk when it comes out. The recent movies about singers have disappointed me. I haven't read the reviews on Elvis yet. That could change my mind, but I avoid theaters during the pandemic, so seeing it in a theater won't happen.
 
I [as a rule] do not feed the Hollywood machine ......... and never was a fan of the Elvi <grin> so no I won't be watching.

Funny this thread should appear today when I'm wearing my Sun Studio t-shirt that I got when I visited Memphis some twenty years ago.

The movie got good reviews... 7.7 on IMDB, so it's probably worth watching. I won't be going to a theater to see it or any movie for that matter. I have a decent entertainment system at home. While not quite theater quality and the popcorn isn't quite as good, it's much, much more comfortable and a hell of a lot cheaper. And I don't need to leave the house.

So I'll stream it when it's available for streaming, if I subscribe to that particular streaming service. There are too many damn options these days! And I just got rid of Netflix. All I have is Amazon Prime. I'm thinking about subscribing to YouTube, which will eliminate commercials for YouTube videos and I'll be able to watch videos on that platform, although the movies seem to have a price tag associated with them, so maybe you have to pay extra for each movie you watch.

If anyone uses YouTube for subscription movies, please post how it works. :)

I've never been an Elvis Presley fan, but I will probably be seeing it twice. Tomorrow by myself and on July 4th with my partner. Since it is a Baz Luhrmann production, I'm sure the music and visuals will be outstanding.
 
I guess I'm one of the few who could take or leave Elvis. I never got all caught up in his life or loves. His songs 🎵 were good, if I didn't have to watch him snarl and gyrate. I think I was a bit too young to fully appreciate him.

I'm an Elvis fan, so I hope to eventually see the movie for that reason. As other people mentioned, I'm glad to know his family gave their approval re the movie.
