Anyone planning on seeing the Elvis movie?

I will definitely watch! He was a big part of my life as I listened to so many of his songs. He had an awesome voice..I was lucky enough to see him perform in Vegas at the Hilton International. I don't remember the year but at that time he had gained some weight and was heavily on drugs...such a shame.

Definitely not an Elvis fan, although I have been to his mansion. I really wouldn't call his house in Graceland a mansion. It's not very big for a mansion, but whatever. The best part of the tour for me was the car barn. I think he appealed more to the female audiences than the males. I will say that he did have a great voice.
My late husband used to say what a remarkable range Elvis had. When we saw Elvis in Vegas, my hubby was not too happy with the singing being so loud the booths were vibrating!
..lol I loved it! We were with another couple and the other woman was a true fan. The entire performance she sat still and stared mesmerized..she was devastated when he died..

Funny this thread should appear today when I'm wearing my Sun Studio t-shirt that I got when I visited Memphis some twenty years ago.

The movie got good reviews... 7.7 on IMDB, so it's probably worth watching. I won't be going to a theater to see it or any movie for that matter. I have a decent entertainment system at home. While not quite theater quality and the popcorn isn't quite as good, it's much, much more comfortable and a hell of a lot cheaper. And I don't need to leave the house.

So I'll stream it when it's available for streaming, if I subscribe to that particular streaming service. There are too many damn options these days! And I just got rid of Netflix. All I have is Amazon Prime. I'm thinking about subscribing to YouTube, which will eliminate commercials for YouTube videos and I'll be able to watch videos on that platform, although the movies seem to have a price tag associated with them, so maybe you have to pay extra for each movie you watch.

If anyone uses YouTube for subscription movies, please post how it works. :)
I took the trial for 30 days. The commercials are so short, and as soon as you see the white cancel in the lower right corner, you can press the OK button to stop it.

$11.99 per month to me, is not worth stopping a few very brief ads. I cancelled the trial after a few days, but they let you keep it for the entire 30 days.

It's better for music playlists.

It is so annoying that all these "free streaming" sites are charging for some movies or run ads for others.

I have been an Elvis fan since I was a young girl. I had a folder with every picture I could find in he teenage magazines. Still today there is no one a good looking as he was - I liken him to Adonis but better looking. I've seen the trailers and while he sounds a bit like Elvis, most of the time he doesn't, so it would be a disappointment to me. I'd rather remember him the way I know.

I believe that the big, fat (Sorry, Elvis fans) Elvis died with about 13 drugs in his body. Too bad since he was some where around 42 years young. No, I'm not going to see the Elvis movie but I will see Tok, Alaska tomorrow late afternoon. Does that count?

He appealed to me and a great many of the folks I grew up around, including those who worked for my pa, and I don't even think his acting was all that bad in G.I. Joe, and as far as singing and stage presence I'd say sensational and will never be beaten, (so that good :) ).
It takes all sorts though, so let's not even bother to think any further as to why anyone would fail to see what this fool sees!

I thought maybe the subscription includes commercial free movies. $11.99 is too much just to eliminate the ads. While they can be annoying, I might pay $5.00 a month to get rid of them, but not $12.00.

Ad blockers stop the YouTube ads on a webpage. I'll bet there's a way to stop them on Roku... perhaps not legally, but YouTube/Google can afford it. :ROFLMAO:

I'm going to research it.

What a great interview! Thanks for sharing. You can tell by the depth of his voice how he could so closely imitate Elvis.

I don't think he "sounds" anything like Elvis ......... seems like a nice kid , but no I don't hear Elvis

Google Ral maybe Rol Donner .........He sounds like Elvis .

If I can find a site / link , I'll post it.

YES! Not at the theater (movies), I stopped going to those when the prices for everything associated with theater going went to the moon and back. The last few times I did go, we bypassed the concession stand altogether, couldn't spend that kind of money and actually enjoy whatever it was we bought. Felt like being legally robbed. Anyway, once it comes to streaming or DVD, I'm looking forward to seeing it as a life long Elvis fan. Don...

I saw it today at one of our "boutique" theaters that shows mostly Indie films. Most of the patrons were in their 70's and 80's, so they could really relate.
I saw it today, and same as your experience a lot of the audience was older (a sea of gray hair and tottering people not sure how to recognize their assigned seat and having trouble in the dim lighting - I felt so so at home).

I was also pleasantly surprised to learn that seeing a movie before 4 pm only costs $5 here in Columbus, OH.

It was an interesting movie, I hadn't known any of that stuff about Elvis's career.
