Are there any things you love now that you really didn't like until you were older?

I was thinking mainly of foods, but this can cover other things as well.

I hated mushrooms and broccoli through my teens but I absolutely love both now.

I also really disliked all forms of country music pretty much through my 30's but now I love some bluegrass and a few country artists.

I like different forms of Art that I pooh-poohed when I was younger .. Cubism, Impressionism, are only two examples.

Like you, I never cared much for country music, but do enjoy more of the genre now. Blues and Soul will always be my favourites.

Being a picky eater when young, I have come a long way, and there's little I wouldn't try .. other than some seafood I'm allergic to.

I never cared for ice cream or candy when I was young. Now I can't get enough of either of them. Growing up the ice cream truck would come up our street. My Dad would run out and get me and my sister cones of ice cream. I would hold mine and finally it would melt. My sister would take it from me and lick it. She knew I wouldn't take it back after she licked it, so she had to finish it. I was thrilled I didn't have to eat it and so was she.

Cantaloupe. I hated as a kid and we lived in an area where a lot of it was grown and I was forced to eat some of it everyday while it was in season. Now, I love it.

Social Security, Medicare, and Lawrence Welk.

With food, it seems to have gone the other way.

There are some things that I enjoyed when I was younger that I don't care for today.

As I've gotten older I've come to enjoy the simple foods that I grew up with as opposed to foods that are usually described as gourmet, luxurious, ultimate, etc...

I like Dark chocolate as an adult, where I preffered Milk choc when I was a kid..

Same with veggies.. I hated Kale, now I like it ( it's all in the way it's cooked)...same with minced meat..OMG my mother was a past master at serving Grey Mince , but as an adult I learned to cook it properly..and I like it enough now to eat it at least a few times a year.

Music wise.. not a lot has changed..I've always had pretty eclectic taste in music, however I really disliked Jazz in all of it's forms but now I've come to enjoy some styles.. .. but I've never liked Rap, and that will never change..

Strangely, perhaps, I've not changed much, if at all, from the time I was very young, in my likes and dislikes. Being vegan, I obviously no longer eat a major part of my diet from my early years, but that doesn't mean I don't like those types of foods. It's just that my higher conscious mind overrides my lower brain's calls for dead animal flesh and dairy products.

In all other things, I honestly can't think of things I hated as a kid that I now love, or vice versa.

I was told, by more than one "New Age" person, that I'm an "old soul." Maybe I've been through enough lives to know all of my likes and dislikes, from each of my more recent births......

Pretty much the same here. I never had kale as a youngster, but it's pretty popular up here. We grow curly kale in the garden and occasionally some of the 'fancy' varieties. I hate it when supermarkets sell it hacked to pieces! My mother was another Grey mince person. I like mince (beef, pork, chicken, mutton, venison etc...). It's very versatile and quick to cook.
Dark chocolate for me every time - and an eclectic taste in music. One thing that has changed - I prefer drier wines and sherry than I used to.

My taste in food or music has not changed much over the years. However, now that I'm older I have learned to appreciate the "little" things that I never really seemed to notice before because I was always busy being part of the "sandwich" generation. I never seemed to have time for regular leisurely early morning walks when it's so quiet you can see and hear Mother nature at her best. The little things are now slowly becoming the "big" things in life for me .... as the saying goes.

Lashann, what's a sandwich generation ?

I can't think of many foods but the main thing for me is I now love going to bed earlier and waking up early. If I am awake past 10 pm I consider that staying up late and if I sleep past 6 am I consider that sleeping in. That's a huge change compared to when I was younger.
