That's weird, because this is not new.
Despite all the Vegan talk and peaceful meditation stuff, Californians love their alcohol beverages.
There are 691 beer breweries in California, making it the state with the most breweries in the entire US.
There are over 10,500 Mixology Schools in Los Angeles County alone. That's where you learn to mix bar drinks and obtain a license to serve them.
Over 100 of the nation's most popular mixed drinks and cocktails have been invented by a Californian.
(that one was extremely hard to verify, so I could be wrong, but I suspect not)
Anyone can be a bartender. You can get a license to be a mixologist. (maybe I should have capitalized thatA license is required to be a bartender ? Never heard of that ??
It is illegal to discriminate against anyone in any way under any circumstances based on gender.
Equal rights laws were worded to specifically include gender, were adopted by Congress in 1972, and the Constitution was immediately amended to ensure they are protected.
So, yes, I do believe women have the same rights as men.
But what do you mean by "equality in every sphere of life" ?
It's federal law.The states have to ratify that. So far it has not happened in the number required.

Do you think this means that a woman would not stand a chance in court if she's been discriminated against due to her gender?
I think it means a lot of congress members would say Yes to the title of this thread. So many states never ratified this, some even withdrawing their vote to do so. I think this is still a major problem in the US, yes.
The equal rights amendment has never been ratified. What do you think that means?

It was likely worse back then. Today virtually everyone has running water and electricity. And Tvs. Not so back in the dayoh my. Most of those folks sleeping in their cars or in tents are either drug addicts or mentally ill, and of course some are both. In most major cities, on any given night, there are more empty beds in the shelters than there are folks sleeping outside or in their cars.
We used to be able to put the mentally ill in institutions, but can't any more in the name of individual freedom. Drug addiction is another problem and is not caused by Bill Gates or Elon Musk or Warren Buffet.
BTW, I have a copy of a family picture of my grandfather's grandfather, taken about 1905, and it showed about a dozen or so of the Buckeye family standing on their "shanty boat" on a river somewhere in West Virginia. It was a rough way to live. And at about the same time, the Vanderbilt family had finished building Biltmore, their "summer home" in North Carolina. It is the largest private residence in America, with 250 rooms and about 179k square feet. I share this just to point out that there have always been massive inequities in the distribution of wealth in the US.
