Are You Good at Making Decisions?

I used to be indecisive, but now I am not so sure. :)

Mike.

I don't know if this is true or not but according to people who believe in a mind/body connection your teeth represent your decision making abilities. My teeth have been bad my whole life and I recently realized I am horrible at making decisions. BUT I also love sweets and when I was a little girl my dad would usually have a candy bar for me in his lunch pail when he came home from work every day. So I don't know............but I do know I'm very indecisive.

I am rarely indecisive.
I am intuitive and instinctive in my everyday decision making but am able to apply rational analysis when necessary.
Usually the analysis confirms the intuitive response.

"Go with your gut" is a pretty good adage that works for me.

I have a very hard time making decisions. Always worry that a better option is just around the corner or worse, I'll wind up regretting the decision that I'm about to make.....so maybe I should just think about it for a while longer!

Yes I am decisive when necessary, but remain flexible. If the situation warrants I will change my mind. How else does one grow? I do not wish to become one of those emotionally hemorrhoidal individuals firmly attached to their own derrières.

Funny Mike. Linda my teeth have been bad my whole life too, but I still have many of them and no dentures in my 60s. Never heard that it affected decision making, I'm pretty good at making decisions....even if they're bad ones. :p

I have had bad teeth as well for many years but I've never had trouble making the decision to chomp down on some candy. :D

I'm also one of those who follows their gut rather than their mind - it usually works out pretty well.

In my original question, I was trying to be flippant, a "Tongue in Cheek Statement".

I am, I think very good at making decisions, at least I haven't done too bad through
my life.

Yeah, we get that Mike but if the thread is to go anywhere, we need to expand the parameters a bit.

Of course we could just turn it into a cartoon thread.

Did you know there is a phobia related to this topic:

Decidophobia: The overwhelming, irrational fear of making decisions. (I kid you not)

But that's not what I have. I have a fear of making mistakes. Haven't found a name for that yet. But results in the same thing. I fret and fret over whether I'm making the "best" decision. It usually ends up a pretty good decision, but it takes way too long.

I tend to overthink or procrastinate, especially if it's a life and death decision, e.g.: Will I call the Dr, or not, even if my back is killing me. ( 3 wks. later I still have not decided, now can barely move).
So stupid--I know!

I was a pilot for 34 years and am still alive, so, yes, I believe it's safe to say that I made some very good decisions. After 34 years of service, I can also say that I retired with no bent metal, which in the business means that I never had any type of accident.

Ditto...
