I thought it was OK. The plot is rather generic but the acting is good and the shots of the ocean and the surrounding area are beautiful. Makes me want to visit that area.

I agree, Marcy. I really like it when folks say WHY they liked or didn't like a show or movie. Comments like, "It was good" don't give any information, or a hint as to why I might want to watch it.

We watched it and thought it was good.

Honestly, we gave up on The Woods (also Harlan Coben) because he introduces so many characters and the characters are Polish so the names aren't easily recognizable, making keeping track almost impossible. I do love his stuff though.
 
I watched the series Waterfront on Netflix. I thought it was pretty good but had some violence . There were 8 episodes.

I have also noticed, and appreciated, this with films from other countries. I think it’s why I enjoy a lot of British series. The actors are much more interesting and I think better actors. in American series, actors seem to be chosen first for their looks.
 
For a couple days I have checked on some shows only to
get a message on screen saying show is no longer avaiable!!
Called spectrum and they said I've been using it wrong!!!!
So got to learn how to stream again.....
 
I just finished watching 'Straw'. Actually one of best movies I've watched in quite awhile. Good story and powerful acting.
 
Yesterday i binge watched all 4 episodes of 'Breakthrough'. A Swedish police drama about two murders (adult woman and an unrelated to her young teen) on a public sidewalk that takes 16 yrs to solve despite them having some DNA of the killer. Don't want to give spoilers. But an interesting study in obsessions, in this case the Head of the Investigation and the genealogist who helps with the solve.

Was a little disappointed because i don't think they explained well enough how genealogy can narrow it down. Tho i did get that they need a very large pool of DNA profiles. The genealogist asks most everyone he meets to submit a swab for the DNA data bank he's trying to build. So if this is a real tactic police can use, American police might want to look into it. i tend to enjoy seeing the differences in laws, police procedures and tropes in foreign series.
 
I just finished the Netflix series The Residence. The only thing I didn't like is that when I asked for that show, it kept going to another series called The Resident. But I finally made my way there each time. Excellent light-hearted murder mystery sort of based on the game Clue, except without Colonel Mustard and the rest of them. But a lot of the characters are similar to the characters in the game. The acting is first rate, and the series keeps you guessing for the entire 8 episodes. You don't find out whodunit until the very end.

And it's a very funny sendup of fanatic bird watchers.

I started watching it because I like the male star, Hoyt McCallany-- one of the most chiseled looking actors since Charles McGraw. I thought it was interesting to see Hoyt play a basically criminal character after he's played so many FBI and law enforcement types.

To my taste there are an abundance of cliches, but the story is moderately interesting. I'll probably finish it out in piece meal fashion. It's interesting that the creator/show runner is basically from the horror genre.
 
We just started watching The Better Sister on Prime. It features two terrific actresses, Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks. And what a story! Jessica Biel is a socialite and her husband is murdered at their house. No spoiler because this is all in the first episode... Elizabeth Banks is the down-and-out ex-wife and the mother of the son who comes to visit, but she is also Jessica Biel's sister!

The whole show revolves around the murder and about the dynamic between the two sisters. The investigator is also fantastic and was the mother on Fear the Walking Dead. Highly recommended if you have Prime.

Well there was horror in it somewhat. I didn't think it was great either but it held my interest when a lot of series and movies don't. That's why I thought it was pretty good 😊

On my Netflix if i watch one episode of a series it puts the series in a 'Continue Watching' Cue on my profile page (my DD has her profile and we have a 'watch together' profile for the stuff we share an interest in. We also have the option of adding things to our lists making them easier to find.
 
Re-watching "Endeavor" on Amazon with Shaun Evans as the young Morse. While he is great in the role, Roger Allam, who plays DI Thursday is the one whose performance got to me the most throughout the series... soul-rending in some episodes. Very talented actor.
