@hypochondriac asked a good question about if we take things personally online as opposed to real life. This may have been discussed here before, but I wonder, is the way you present yourself online the same person you are in real life?
For me, I think I have basically the same personality here as in real life. Big difference, I find it is sometimes easier to speak my mind here than in real life. Well, maybe not easier, but I feel more comfortable. I mean, I would not be mean or disrespectful here , because that is not me. But I can speak up more. Maybe it is because I have more time to think out my answers and comments.

I can't imagine that I'm very different offline to online.. except I tend to suffer fools a little more online than I do in real life..

I've just asked my husband this question and he said, the only thing he can see different is that I probably don't come across online as jokey and lighthearted as I am in real life!! :D

Hamlet Act 1, scene 3, 78–80
This above all: to thine own self be true ,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

I believe these lines to be most profound and I try to be my genuine self online and in real life.
When is comes to forums I may appear to be different people but that is because each forum has its own culture and discusses different things.

Personality is a flower with many petals, some of which are less visible at first glance.

I tend to get drowned out by louder more confident voices in real life. So I guess you will see some fake confidence from me online. Forums have given me a chance to express myself more . Im sure many people who suffer from some shyness in real life would say the same thing.

No I don’t believe I am the same in real life.
I’ll sometimes argue about stuff on here that in real life I wouldn’t be bothered with.

I’ll joke about stuff that I probably wouldn’t joke about in real life.

But I’m definitely super goofy and that’s how I am in real life. 🤪

Once I get too serious about a topic I can be like a pit bull who won’t let go

Yep! That’s what I’m really like at times. 😬lol

This is the nature of social media, We have more time to give measured replies. Not that I don't give knee jerk reactions now and then. :)
Face to face you have to think "on your feet.". I joined toastmasters for a while and was dreadful, especially at the impromptu speeches when you had to talk off the cuff.
