My area had a reported 10-1/2" inches from this storm as of 4 pm yesterday, but no damage to speak of. Sewers had already been cleared of debris and the flood control system quickly dispatched the water to the LA River and ultimately the Pacific Ocean.
It's still raining now, but lightly. It's forecast to rain all day with a few breaks, and should clear out in about 18 hours. Next rain isn't expected until Feb 17th, so plenty of time for all of this moisture to soak in.
News footage aside, most Californians weathered this storm with few problems, if any.
