August is Two Months Early

103 F at 1 PM today and hotter weather coming in the forecast.
That is really hot. It doesn't usually get that hot here in Ohio. Some years we've had an occasional 90 something F.

It's been warm by me too, close to 90 for a week now. But, we are in for a cool down once the rain hits tomorrow. It'll be nice to see temps back in the 60's.

It's getting here early too, Lon. I'm in Western Oregon. This is just not good. How is your water supply where you are? Are you rationing? We are on a well, but last year we decided to only flush a couple of times a day. One never knows how long the water will last and if it will be replaced. I'm so glad I did not have kids and bring them into a world that's climate will soon not support life. I thought I was not doing it because of the violence and over population and not wanting to be a mother. I would have never guessed when I made my decision that the climate would go haywire.

We have had some decent rain and snow pack in the Sierras so no rationing as of yet.

This Spring has shown some really bad weather for parts of the nation, And world. The people in parts of Texas are going through Hell with all the rain and floods. The tornado season is already taking its toll in many parts of the Midwest. I saw a report a couple of days ago from the weather service saying that the Atlantic coast may be in for a rough Hurricane season. Then, BBC was showing some reports of bad floods in both France and Germany. Another report said that some parts of India had temperatures as high as 128 degrees this past week.

We've been lucky, here in the middle of Missouri...so far, with a mild Spring, and a bit below normal rainfall....but knowing this area, that could change substantially, at any time.

With the weather deviating so much from the norm, one has to be prepared for anything. We may actually have to buy a portable air conditioning unit, something we rarely need here. I live here because the climate is mild - mild seems to be a thing of the past in most places these days.

It's actually seasonal now in the Washington, DC area. In the 80's and humid. We've had a freaky spring though, one extreme or another.

You maybe getting a taste of the South Australian, summer we had Lon ...We had 40c .... 104 ..in October ..( Spring ) it was a really nasty summer no rain ....I had onions in the garden, they receive part shade during the day they "cooked" in the ground
it was impossible to grow any vegtables ,it didn't matter how much they were watered or mulched they just didn't survive
