(...give.me.a.break)

Bill Cosby is claiming defamation in a lawsuit filed Monday against seven of his accusers.

"Mr. Cosby states plainly that he neither drugged nor sexually assaulted the defendants and that each defendant has maliciously and knowingly published multiple false statements and accusations from Fall 2014 through the current day in an effort to cause damage to Mr. Cosby's reputation and to extract financial gains," Cosby's attorney, Monique Pressley, tells USA TODAY in a statement.

The suit, filed in federal court, is aimed at Massachusetts accusers Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis and Angela Leslie. Pressley's statement adds that the "false...opportunistic" allegations have caused Cosby to suffer loss of jobs and "mortification."

The women wouldn't be the first to make sexual accusations for monitory gain, but where there is smoke, !! will make interesting reading.

I'm curious why he is only suing those seven women. Only denying seven of the accusations?

Or his lawyers think these are the weak links and if their stories fall or get picked apart the rest will fall like dominoes. Could be a show to show he is fighting the claims.

Well, let's poll the thing. Think Cosby is guilty as charged, by the various women? imp

I always wondered why that one pretty girl left his show and never said why. They said she didn't get along with Bill Cosby but I didn't ever hear anything more about it. Doesn't mean there wasn't a public statement, I just didn't see it. I understand why a lot of the ladies didn't come forward and make a formal complaint, that can be a rough row to hoe. If I were a betting person, and I am, I'd say he's guilty.

I agree with you Linda.

How can we base judgment upon the very things we question validity of so vituperously? I personally will stand behind Cosby un til proven wrong decisively, no matter that he is black! imp

Far too much evidence to think he is not guilty. No matter how hard he tries to put the women on trial. Shrinky people verrrry suspicious of him indeed. By all means stand by him if you believe his innocence.

But what else can he do?

Come clean and confess to all?

You know - be honest?

I know that would be groundbreaking, especially for a celebrity and an icon like Cosby, but ... honesty is the best policy in the long run. Having teams of lawyers covering up and obfuscating for you just makes you look like you're hiding something.
