Bill Gates is planning to block the sun

All I needed to see was that it was a report by Tucker Carlson. Clicked off immediately.

The NY Times article discussed pros and cons of this idea. Not sure this is the right answer, but glad someone is asking the questions and working the problem.

Truth is, humans need to do something sooner rather than later because global climate change is wreaking havoc throughout the planet. We've turned the Earth and our atmosphere into a polluted toilet.

Bill Gates isn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier. I remember reading when the moron said we had to remove all of the CO2 from the air. Since plant life lives on CO2, that will pretty much kill all life on earth. He got lucky on software, due to timing, circumstance, and having some very good people to carry his water. As for climate change, it's been changing forever, switching from hot to cold to hot, etc. Only idiots like Gates think they can control climate, as it's mostly a function of the sun and solar dynamics beyond our reach. Equally ludicrous is the idea that animal farts are contributing to problematic global warning, given the preponderance of animal life before people became numerous.

I'm sure there are some International Treaties to prohibit any govt. to manipulate the Sun. If Gates commences such to the satisfaction of our scientists, the U.S. is responsible also and must stop him.

You are surely correct. This isn't the only tool being explored for deflecting some of the sun's rays in order to reduce the disastrous effects of human-caused global warming.

As for Gates attempting to "blot out the sun," here's an article explaining that hoax.

That's the problem and nobody stops him. 😡
Stops him from doing what? Vaccinating children in poverty stricken countries against polio? Buying up farmland (he's not the first)? Trying to figure out how to reduce global warming? Exactly what should he be stopped from doing and by whom?

We didn't prevent Chinese interests from buying up sizeable portions of US pork processing plants and numerous other entities on American soil, nor are we stopping Nestle from draining our underground aquifers to produce bottled water, or disallowing oil companies from despoiling our coastal waters (and getting hefty tax breaks while doing so), and we didn't stop Walmart from destroying local businesses in small American towns, etc., etc. So why would anyone think we would or should stop Bill Gates from doing exactly what is to be expected from a country that professes to prize personal freedoms and capitalism über alles?

Can't imagine what shenanigans we'll see from Elon Musk in the not too distant future...

They haven't but they refer specifically to politics, not topics that have been politicized. I imagine the job of distinguishing the two is particularly difficult these days.

I responded to the OP by saying that Fox News is stirring up trouble as usual. And I quoted the Wikipedia article about Tucker Carlson. My response was deleted.

Tucker Carlson is a very political figure. And his opposition to Bill Gates is undoubtedly political. This whole thread should be eliminated.

The chief operating officer of Reuters - James E. Smith -is also on the Board of Directors of Pfizer, and therefore works directly with Bill Gates. Pfizer is a worldwide pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporation, which was co-founded by Charles Pfizer (1824-1906).

Sunny, the topic of this thread is about Bill Gates and his preparation to block the sun, not about politics. You're the one who keeps insisting to make this a political issue. You had a humorous clip I posted on a different thread about the virus test removed because you said it was a political issue - but you're the one who keeps inserting the politics.

To get away from Tucker and his obviously political slant on things, I would like to add that, considering the temperatures we've all been having for the last few days, the flooding and melting of glaciers, and the catastrophic climate change, maybe blocking a little bit of the murderous heat and radiation being aimed at us by the sun wouldn't be such a bad idea! If life on earth is seriously in danger of being wiped out, and we have the means to deflect a bit of the sun's heat in order to save it, why not?

I would be VERY skeptical about introducing anything like this into our upper atmosphere. That just sounds like something that could go horribly wrong, and tip the scales drastically in an opposing direction....with NO way to reverse the damage.

Something that used to be fairly common, was Cloud Seeding....introducing chemicals into clouds to make it rain. I haven't heard of that being done in several years. Could that be something that might reduce the extreme drought in our Western states??,,,,or has there been some problem detected with that process that created more problems than it cured??

Bill Gates isn't on the board of directors of Pfizer or Reuters, so where's the crossover? Even if they were both on the same board, so what? Reuters doesn't own Newsweek, which is the source of the article I posted. Did you actually read it? If so, you'd know that what's under consideration by a team of scientists at Harvard is less than 5 lbs of calcium carbonate, which is commonly found on the planet (not to mention in antacids like Tums).

Anyone who honestly believes that Bill Gates has the power, intention or means of blocking out the sun should take a break from FOX News and the internet. Bill Gates is not a god, nor does he have god-like power.
