According to the ADL, right wing extremists, including white supremacists, killed 26 people in 2021. This includes five people killed by an "incel" as well as spousal killings, prison gang murders and murders committed in other circumstances.

Shocking, horrible, terrible, yes. Should they command more attention and resources than the other 20,000 or so murders committed last year? I'm just saying some perspective might be helpful here.

Is that so? In 2020 before a captive nationwide audience, refusing to disavow the Proud Boys, he saluted them instead: "Stand back and Stand by!" A POTUS that supported and promoted white supremacy. The #1 domestic terror threat.

Let me know when you find a direct link between the former POTUS and the idiot racist killer in Buffalo. Otherwise it's all BS and blather.
 
I think there is a lot of mental illness propelling people into insane behavior. There was also a shooting yesterday in an Orange county CA. church where one person died and a fatal stabbing in England. This is a serious problem that is not being addressed, people are becoming becoming mentally sick and while so, acting out violently during this state. It isn't the weapon of choice or social media, it's illness not being acknowledged and treated before tragedy occurs. :unsure:

Managing mental illness costs money they'd rather not spend. The weapons become the convenient & no-cost scapegoat. And it's easy to manipulate people into believing it because some don't like guns, anyway.

Exactly ..... But the nation-wide focus on gun hatred is drawing attention away from the true problem.

And the gun being an inanimate object is easier to deal with than human frailty . Add to that this false idea that all [approx] 350,000,000 guns can actually be confiscated , and here we have the rest of the problem.

We need to reopen the asylums ........ jmo

And White people kill White people everyday! A lot of times it's family members killing each other for insurance money...or husbands killing their wives and children because they'd rather try to escape having to pay alimony and child support due to divorce because of their infidelities. Sometimes it's because they are desperate and see no way out of what they perceive as hopeless financial situations. So what's your point?! As my husband used to say..."that's not what we're talking about right now." And you're wrong... killings in Black communities do get reported and noticed, albeit mostly in the local news for communities they take place in.

What you seem not to realize is that #45 empowered White Supremacists by various actions (inactions) and speeches. He made them feel they could boldly perpetrate their mess, so a direct link was not needed. Look what happened at the capitol on January 6th, 2021. And I also blame Facebook. While they censor comments from regular folks that it doesn't even make sense to censor (because they don't fit community standards) and put some in Facebook "jail" they allowed certain hate groups to continue uncensored.

BTW the Department of Homeland Security considers White Supremacist groups to be this countries biggest terror threat.
