Capital of Your State? Do you live there, or would you?

I have been to Columbus a few times for social events, but back when I started flying, I flew for Air Wisconsin and made many trips into Columbus.
Cool. I've never been on a plane to Columbus, only bus and car now that I think of it. We drove through once on our way to KY.

Columbus has a great zoo. The largest in the U.S. I believe. I think Jack Hanna is the zoo’s Director. I also attended the Good Guys Car Show there last summer, along with my son. Then, on the way back, I stopped to visit my uncle in Streetsboro and then up to Psinesville to visit cousins.

Painesville is off I90 W. Went through there once on a one-tank-trip. Nice place!

Trenton, NJ is my state's capital. I have been there many times for a variety of reasons, but I'd never live there in a million years. There is a lot of history from our Revolution attached to it and the surrounding area, but forget the rest of it.
Trenton? A lot of crime in Trenton. Maybe that’s why they built the state prison there.

Harrisburg is the capitol of the state I live in and I would never want to live there even though I visited it only one time. I have family members In Atlanta,Georgia and visited there many times, but I don't have any desire to live there.

No desire at all to live in Springfield, Illinois, but have been there several times. If you're an Abraham Lincoln fan there are quite a few sites to visit. His home is a must-see. Also Dana Thomas House, a great Frank Lloyd Wright home, is there.

Aunt Bea, I grew up in Albany & went back for a Reunion in 2013
Have a bunch of family around the area, lived in Amsterdam and Schenectady for several years...
We are country folks at heart and dont care much for city life... but do enjoy short visits...
Childhood was very near Kingston NY... the original NY capitol.... several days in DC... and at least a half dozen other capitols.

Good question. I've always been kind of amused by the unexpected places that for some reason were made the state capitals. Once, on a cruise in Alaska, we stopped in Juneau, which looked like a one-horse town out of an old western. I would have expected it to be Anchorage.

My own state capital, Annapolis, is a lovely waterfront town. It's a little too crowded and touristy in the summer, that's the only bad thing I know about it. I wouldn't mind living there, although I have no desire to move.

I graduated from Kent State. I lived in Chardon (Geauga County) my first two years and then moved down to Ellet for my junior and senior years.

Oh! ..you guys from my old neighborhood... :ROFLMAO: ... I grew up in Geauga Cty., I know all the places that you are talking about.
My time in Columbus was spent on Ohio State campus and at football games there.

And going to Painesville area was time for the beach at Mentor Headlands.
Great memories of all those places.

I've driven way out to Mentor once, a very nice place! Lots of my family went to Ohio State U. while I went to Cleveland State U. Good to hear your memories are great ones! (y)
