Cat takes family hostage

I think it's hilarious that a cat had them bailed up in the room, i think if i had been kicked in the butt i would have been on the rampage too, but fancy calling emergency WTF to get help :grrr:

You know that old saying about cats that they were once worshipped as gods and never forgot it.

Somebody kicks ME upside the butt I'm going to go mental on them as well.

These people are always so surprised when they treat their animals like dirt and then the animal snaps. The determination of the cat being anti-social should have been made long before the baby came into the household and he (the cat, not the baby) should have been adopted out.

Two sides to every story - I hope the cat gets a good lawyer.

I agree that if someone abuses the animal, they should expect the pet to either hide in fear, or go into attack mode. The person should have never called 911, that's ridiculous, that is for emergencies only. If you can't handle your pet cat or dog, then give it up for adoption to some who will care for them and give them a loving home. Many cats and dogs are "anti social" because their owners did not train them properly, with positive reinforcement, or socialize them with other people and pets. Anyone who kicks their cat should not even be allowed to own animal, IMO.

my first thought when I hear these things is that a small child like that, should not be allowed alone with an animal, ever. It is an animal, and it is going to protect itself. We were taught from the get go, and we did, I think have some natural "good" instincts about being gentle with things, but a baby that age, doesn't have a clue. So the adults need to protect the child, and also make sure the animal is not abused.

I have no clue what all happened there but imo, it's the adults at fault. Not to long ago, there was a vid runnin around the web of a woman out in her yard just obnoxiously kickin snow at this cat. I think she wanted it to leave her yard, or, she thought she was being funny on camera. Like aren't I cute kicking snow at the cat. Well, the cat attacked her and imo, she had it comin. It shows her walking off sobbing because of the bad kitty, a grown woman.

My cat staring me down, giving me the evil eye, as I tried to eat my piece of Tiramisu in a peaceful manner. He watched as each forkful made its way into my mouth. He started to move toward me in a threatening manner, but I didn't retreat. There was a bottle of Windex on the table, so if I needed it, I'd have an equalizer. He gave me a couple of scares, but thankfully, never attacked....until next time anyway.

Here he is one day in September. I tried to leave the house, but he wouldn't let me. When I would attempt to get around him, he would give me a warning purr. Luckily, I had enough groceries in the house, where I could survive being a prisoner in my own home. I was grateful when he finally went off to take a nap later that evening. Almost called 911, but held out...I'm tough that way.

Your cat looks like he's a force to contend with! And don't let him see this and get any bright ideas¬

Yeah, not a smart thing to do. Remember that case where the two kids were taunting a tiger (only verbally no less)? Bystanders said they could see the big cat was getting angry. It suddenly charged the moat and wall and made it up the other side. It killed one of the kids and chased down the other who ran and mauled him. Security killed it while it was still sitting by him. The caretakers at the zoo said they had never heard of a big cat escaping that type of enclosure but they said clearly this one wanted to get out more than others have. They said there were pronounced claw marks on the outer wall of the enclosure where it scrambled up and probably with the speed of its charge, it was up and over before it lost traction.

Humans seem to never learn!!

Siamese cats were originally used to guard palaces in olden times. They were a bit bigger, then, and can still be just as mean.

As for that guy throwing snowballs I the lions, I would love to throw him to the lions. He is a jerk!

Yeah, a real mental giant that pinhead.

I have the cable show My Cat From Hell on the TV now, Jackson Galaxy is definitely in tune with these cats, and can solve many problems the owners are having with their difficult felines. I like to watch and learn a few tips from him, he's one with the kitties.

Many, many . . . MANY years ago as a kid flying across The Pacific once again with my family, read a collection of short stories entitled "Things With Claws". "The Birds" was included as was another about two Siamese cats (told you they can be mean!) who plotted to kill their humans. One of our Siamese cats was so mean my mom said he was the reincarnation of a Japanese pilot my dad had shot down during the war. I think she might have had something there. He slept with my older sister who was a teenager at the time and would attack her when she came home late from a date because the electric blanket wasn't on. He was a great cat, though and extremely intelligent.
