Change in your country

I might add, required permanent workers throughout the world's nations, paid from PEOPLE and COMMERCE taxes, that deal effectively guided by modern science with trash, many free public drinking water fountains, and clean serviced public restrooms.
 


I’m from the UK so this relates only to the UK

We should focus on being a decent place for a multi-cultural population to live…for young people both British born and those who have chosen to make the UK their home, to have their talents recognized and utilised.
Working millennials are paying for the care of Baby Boomers who had the luxury of watching their wealth grow while young people today have no chance of even buying their own homes. Baby boomers are among the most well off in the UK and a wealth tax seems like a good idea to me. As a British born person with a conscience, I would like to see some changes in this direction.

The British education system needs an overhauling (too many young people are leaving school unequipped for the work force). Social security payments need a shake up.. make sure those on Jobseeker Allowance are truly looking for work and when not seeking a job can volunteer somewhere rather than sit around doing nothing and getting up to mischief.
Churches should pay tax, unless they can prove absolutely, the money is used for charitable purposes. In Europe many churches have to pay tax and attendance has not dropped.

Well...you did ask ...there’s more, when I become PM, I shall expand further LOL
 

* Out of control inflation.
* Out of control crime in the cities.
* Out of control illegal immigration on the southern border.
* An unwillingness on the part of our leadership to accept reality.

In some countries crisps are known as chips. In the UK we used to salt our crisps with the little bag of salt that came in every packet.

I don't mind the yelling & screaming and passion behind it. I mind hating each other and not seeing each other as fellow citizens. Tuesday morning I woke up in tears. So sad about my country. I was surprised how much this all has hurt my inner life.

why what happened on Tuesday ?
 
I feel our purposed in life should be to leave society and the Earth better than we found it. My generation has failed that charge! Much of that has been caused by money in politics. When corporations can "purchase" politicians, they can direct that politician's voice. That money has now "purchased" our Supreme Court. So, both the Legislative branch and the Judicial branch are biased by the money that purchased their power for them.

If our democracy is to survive, we need to get back to where the vote of the people sets the direction of the Country, not the money of a few.

I will point out that here in Canada, political donations are limited to $1500 by an individual, and $25,000 by a corporation. By doing that we avoid the situation that you have in the USA. JimB.
 
Solutions to problems depend upon what you think is a problem.

In the US, conservatives think that the rising rate of serious crime is a problem. Liberals disagree. Both sides offer statistics to show they are right.

Similarly, conservatives think that an essentially open border with Mexico is a problem. Liberals do not.


If you can't even agree on what the problems are, how can you agree on solutions?

I have a solution but people might not like it. LOL I would start by rounding up all homeless people and putting them in an institution. I would have a zero tolerance for drugs selling and drug use. I would reinstate the death penalty for crimes instead of clogging up prisons and making tax payers have to pay for it or taking chances on someone feeling sorry for a criminal and letting them back out to murder again.

Yes in the beginning it might be bad because the situation has been allowed to get out of control and there's so many of them. A LOT of people would be rounded up. But future generations would be afraid to even try drugs if it could mean loss of their freedom for life. People would only live to murder once.

A drug addict can't remain a drug addict in prison or an institution with no access to drugs and they won't be on the street living like animals either. They won't be out committing crimes to try to pay for their drug habit if they are locked up. I have compassion for drug addicts and homeless, and that compassion is WHY I think society has to deal harshly with the situation to keep it from festering and growing. When a leg or a foot is full of gangrene, you cut it off to keep it from spreading all over the body. If there are no drug addicts on the streets to buy drugs, there's no profit for drug dealers to sell drugs.

And the borders just need to be closed to anyone entering illegally. Those who come legally are welcome because they can sustain themselves. But we can't even sustain the ones born here let alone allowing more illegals to come.

Amazing. You have just outlined the process that the Nazis used to clean the streets in Germany in the 1930's . Would this be a good time to remind you of a thing called " human rights " ? Lock people up, with no regard to their rights under the Constitution ? AS for getting drugs in a prison..I have some news for you. Corrupt guards can and do smuggle drugs, and cell phones into prisons, for MONEY, paid to them by friends of the prisoners on the outside. You have just told this entire forum what little regard you have for the laws in your country. JimB.

I'm completely with you.. in an ideal world this is exactly what I'd like to see happen... .. but it never will.. not in the west anyway.. :(
