College Freshman Allegedly Stabbed To Death In NYC Manhattan Park By 13 Year Old

A college freshman was stabbed to death during a mugging at dusk of all times by a 13 year old in what was apparently a botched mugging. In other words the victim fought back and teen murder/mugger got angry because she was stabbed multiple times in the face.

Might be others involved because other reports included up to 3-4 individual participating in the mugging.

I read a few and found this one I agree with.

"This is a horrific crime. These three should be tried as adults and if convicted they should be locked up and not let out until Tessa Majors comes back to life."

I did see this on New York News....I cried....It's getting worse...

I don't like "New York City"....It use to be a decent City at one time....Years ago I lived right across to New York City...

I have never gone back to the City in many many years....But I had to go 2 years ago for my husband to have Surgery at Sloan Memorial ...
I didn't go alone....My daughter and the family stayed in a Hotel....I had to stay 6 days....My daughter and son split up 3 days each with there
family....(It was a nasty place) ….

I'm very scared for my Grand Children....One is in College and his sister will be going to college next year....How can we protect them!!!

Being juveniles, these thugs, will probably be brought before juvenile court, and if found guilty, will most likely be released back into society when they turn 18 or 21...depending upon NY laws. By then, they will have learned even more ways to wreak havoc on others.

Sadly it's starting to look like it might have been a drug deal gone bad with the NYC police being slammed for letting that information out. Also there is information that the 13 year old murderer might have been a regular pot user.

If true it would explain the attack. So basically it appears to be a rookie drug deal on both sides and someone got nervous and/or tried to rip the other off.

Reason she was there shouldn't matter nor should pot use by murderer be an excuse. In the end both might have participated in a criminal transaction gone bad.

Also thought I read a report that a second suspect was released and stories may be conflicting or wrong?

I think sometimes people who know the suspect makes stupid comments. New York is probably similar to some other states that send juvenile offenders to something like reform school until they are 21 and then they are released. Problem is that while they are in reform school, they are able to hone their skills from other more experienced criminals.

This poor girl is dead and her family is devastated. She probably should have given up the phone. You can replace your phone.

I have always enjoyed NYC. We go a few times a year to see a show or an opera, which is not my favorite thing to do. I do not like wearing a tux. I do like staying at the Plaza. The service is outstanding.

I once read that dusk is a dangerous time and is a favorite time for muggers.

No, it does not explain it at all, not at all.

It doesn't justify it but it makes it a little clearer as to what went on. Still don't think they have a full or accurate account yet.

********Breaking. A 14 year old suspect jumped out of a car on the way to meet with police. The adult with them did notify the police. This suspect is now considered being the one who wielded the knife. Manhunt on.

I just bought a real nice slightly used .25 magnum pistol that I can carry in my pocket. I have to look into what I need to do to get a carry permit in other states. Anyone know? Is there like a carry permit that one can use no matter what state they go into?

2nd amendment is your permit. The sooner people realize this, the better. Forget trying to get a permit in a place like NYC, they prefer you to be a victim. I won't be.

Oh sheesh, I was wondering how long it would take the gun worshipers to use this tragedy to promote their obsession. So, because a young woman was tragically stabbed to death in Central Park in a botched mugging, there's our signal, folks. Everybody should get armed to the teeth and go out with their itchy trigger finger always at the ready... shoot first and ask questions later, eh? Problem solved! All the muggers would turn into law-abiding citizens, and just stay home. Great solution.

Truly amazing how every issue, even those that didn't involve guns at all, somehow gets turned into a commercial for the (misused) Second Amendment!
So, any hothead walking around with his "real nice" pistol, just itching to be used, is the same thing as a well regulated militia? Really? In what universe?

And you're absolutely right, Squatting Dog (lovely name), the NYC authorities really want people to be victims of crime. These evildoers never let up in concocting their villainous plans to get ordinary people killed. Good detective work there on your part!

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
Seems you forgot those pesky comma's again with that old argument using the well regulated milita. I'll be waiting on your response written on a piece of parchment, with a quill of course as per the first amendment, because, after all it can't just be the 2nd amendment that's out of date.
Does this help?

This case had absolutely nothing to do with marijuana, not that it even matters. Is anyone really suggesting this beautiful, gifted young woman should have been packing heat? If someone here would have had such a weapon, it would not have been her.

NYC has the lowest crime rates of any major city in this country, and less crime than most suburban and many rural areas. However, one crime is expanding---roaming groups of young, very young, teens with robbery & violence their intent. I wonder if this is a growing nationwide phenomenon.

Yes, I have read that this is so. Despite this, NYC is still amongst the safest places in this country, which just points out how lawless and violent this nation is. It particularly disturbs me of the trend in very young teens ganging up in acts of violence on solitary persons, which is the case in this thread's topic.

She was such a beautiful girl with a bright future ahead What is wrong with some of our youth today? The violence that is going on "just for the hell of it", it seems boggles my mind. I hope these young men get tried as adults.
