Could covid 19 have been a bioweapon? Your thoughts?

You forget that nowadays, with efficient transportation for all, a virus cannot be used as a weapon. It would return to you before you could sneeze! See the lockdown of whole cities in China because covid was rampant there as well.

And restrictions on our end made sense at the time. And everyone else took the same measures because they made sense to all. Wash hands, keep your distance ... what medical professional would speak out against that?

There was no conspiracy anywhere to rob anyone of their precious freedom! A few countries like Sweden and Brazil went against common sense and decided to count on developing herd immunity instead of taking preventive measures. Sweden quickly reversed that policy when covid started to take its toll. Brazil stuck with it and the coffins started to pile up! Naturally some things could have been done differently but we all learn by experience, even medical professionals.
 

Only one thing I'm sure of concerning Covid 19 ... I don't know the truth.
Maybe among the many political and scientific explanations offered which are conflicting within each community, is the truth.
But it hasn't been proven or widely accepted yet. Anything and everything else is speculation at this point.

I apply Occham's razor to these situations, looking for the simplest explanation. With this in mind, I lean towards the natural jump between animal species and humans. I have no evidence for that but there is also no evidence of conspiracy or military involvement, so there we are. We just don't really know.

Well, it's occurred to me as to probably most people.

However, if it was a bioweapon, it must have been released by the Chinese. The problem is they too have suffered. Yet it could be that this wouldn't bother them. I don't think such regimes think like we do about their own people.

Most likely it was a horrible virus that did come from their disgusting live meat markets, since they eat so many cruelly killed exotic living things. It makes me sick to think of the things they eat for fertility and youth etc.
Of course it could have been from their labs, who knows what this secretive people are working on.

I do blame the Chinese for all the suffering and economic cost to the world. They should pay reparations, instead they profit from it!

I believe we are lucky to be alive, this could have been a complete killer. Lucky that science created effective vaccines in record time. Having taken all the vaccines and had covid I have my life but not my health any longer - physically my immune system seems weakened and I have had so much illness as never before. In addition I suffer depression and anxiety as never before.

Yes. This is speculation. I don't have the answers. But as times goes by the truth will be revealed to more and more people. It might become more obvious.

Respectfully, you can't be certain of that. Another purpose of covid 19 might be to institute 24/7 surveillance on the global population. That IS a loss of freedom and freedom IS precious. Who would want to live without it?

Never seen Twitter, but I agree on Fox News... problem is there are others not much if any better. Like CNN or MSNBC. Almost all "news" has taken on too much political bias.

However I am a free speech proponent, so as long as what they say isn't slanderous or treasonous I would not want to see them regulated. We are the only ones who can effectively filter what we listen to. Or if we listen reasonably decide what to believe. No one else can do that for us.

It would be best if everybody stopped watching news channels, returned to watching regular shows and get their news on ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC's evening news. They will get more news in half an hour than they will when watching those politically slanted channels you mentioned all day! I stopped watching ages ago because all one sees is commentators, "experts," endless discussions on the subject of the day with very little news!

Seriously, all mainstream media is worthless. Fox, CNN CBS, NBC, MSNBC, BBC, - all of it. I haven't bothered with any of it in a long time.
 
I suppose anything is possible, but it seems rather counterproductive to unleash something that kills a great deal of people in your own country, if your goal is to use it against your enemy. It seems like drinking poison and expecting your enemy to die from it.
I think the most likely case is that it originated in bats like most SARS type coronaviruses do, then was transferred to other animals that ate the bats, and those other animals were sold at the animal food markets where the original infections were traced back to. Zoonosis happens quite often where diseases are transferred that way. I have no reason to conclude this was any different. But then I am always a skeptic of conspiracy theories.

I think you have to differentiate between the regular evening news, which is usually about what happened that day and the news channels which are all about attacking opposing ideologies! I don't bother with the latter any more either!
 
And I should add, as an outsider looking on in concern that those channels are dividing your country more every day and, in my opinion, are a bigger threat to your freedom than a virus. I am not the first one to say this but if the slanted news keeps fanning the dislike, even hatred of right vs. left you might have to face another civil war down the road! And that's not some far fetched conspiracy theory but a horrible very possible reality! Hug and make up! The folks on both sides are great, you just can't see it at the moment.
 
I think we can all agree it started in China. There shouldn't be any doubt that the Wuhan lab was working with this particular disease. If you work with diseases in a lab & one gets out, you'd be looking for any excuse to put the blame elsewhere if your China tryin to hide what you were doing. They knew about it & kept it from the world until it spread & couldn't deny it anymore. They should be held financially responsible for what happened to all economies, but that won't happen. I also view it as a human rights violation against all countries as well, but that won't ever be discussed.

At this point, I don't understand how anyone can deny that Wuhan wasn't doing gain-of-function with Covid. What other diseases are they working on? Why would you do that type of study if you weren't going to use it as a potential biological weapon. Now we are hearing about an unlicensed Chinese bio-lab in California. If there is one there, how many more are there?

You realise you are talking about 8 Billion Human Beings, Chic? Can you think of any computer that could keep track of all of us? Or would want to?
