Covid Multiple Times: Help Me Understand This

I think it is pretty complex.

I've had 4 shots total from the beginning, have been going out into the hordes off and on the entire time only wearing masks when required to enter a given building. I'm old and was diagnosed with several conditions marking me "vulnerable." Never caught it.

I have relatives with more mask mania than the Lone Ranger, the entire series of boosters, barely exit the airlock, working from home, are half my age, and yet they have "had Covid" multiple times.

Quite the fickle finger of fate.

I'm only guessing, but I suspect that basically everyone has been exposed to multiple strains. Hard telling what the factors are that lead to symptomatic infection or worse. Could be vitamin D or zinc levels or almost anything else. I doubt we'll ever really know.

But so far one "conspiracy theory" after another has been proven or admitted. It is tough to get people to drop their political bias and look at the known facts.

Intelligent level headed response.

Before The Vax first became available, I read as much as I could find (it wasn't much) about mRNA vaccines. The few articles available all said they had experimented with mRNA in rats years (10?) before and every animal died so they gave up on mRNA. I decided to wait and see. Know I have worked in health care for many years, have had many vaccinations in my lifetime, and would still absolutely promote certain ones. All the hype about Covid made me uneasy. My doctor at that time actually said to me, "If you don't take the vax, you will catch covid and die." As time went on, more and more conflicting information was available; some sounded so (almost) crazy.

I decided not to take it. Now I am glad because of the few people I know who did take it, about 35% of them are now having cardiovascular problems (one of them is 20 years old and is a dancer so in very good condition). They have also had covid (at least tested positive, if you trust the test) several times. Those who have not been vax'd have not been sick or had a mild flu-like illness (me included) for which they did not seek treatment.

Many people and corporations made a LOT of money on this, in the hundreds of millions in some cases, including certain politicians.

The worst part about this entire pandemic is how it has caused mistrust of our healthcare system. Now, I question everything my provider recommends, especially if the words "Medicare will pay for it 100%" are included in that conversation. When I was working in the system, the CDC was my go-to for information. Not anymore. They have admitted to mis/dis-information about covid-19. Now, I do not know what to trust.
Another VERY intelligent person here! Thanks for sharing such details.

That's total B.S.

Medicare never pays 100%, so that's total B.S.

So. Consider how a flu vaccine works…it is manufactured…created if you will…based on best guess of what will be the predominant strain of the virus. Sometimes this works well…sometimes mutations or another strain becomes the dominant strain and thus causes vaccinated people to become ill. They are ill because they were never vaccinated for the strain they were exposed to. Covid works the same way. Vaccines look back…can not anticipate what the virus will become in the future.
Thank you, @Muskrat. Very clear explanation.

Well my hubby, myself, my two brothers and their families (all adults now by the way), have all been vaccinated and taken booster shots too and we all (knock on wood) have not been sick since covid struck. Maybe some peoples' immune systems are down if they are getting sick when they have had all the covid shots???

Well done!

As for anecdotal evidence are you kidding? Of course its anecdotal. Its a personal experience. She is not stating case studies or factual stats proven by research. Its an experience she had with someone who admitted they were vaxxed and questioning why they keep getting covid!

Anecdotal statement with confirmation bias - not really worth much

There is a reason why medical studies use placebos and double blind trials.

I see the Taz tag team is wanting another wrestling match. It is getting boring, so I don't think there are going to be many that want to mess with it. Good luck, I am not interested.

yes you are right so when one anti vaccine thread dies down and talking to themself , oops, each other, runs out of steam they start another one

The thread title is misleading - they dont want any help in understanding this at all- they just want another anti vaccine platform when their previous ones have petered out

I remember getting the flu vaccine years ago, and that was the one and only time - this was over 30 years ago. I understand that the flu vaccine contains the virus. However, when the covid vaccine first came out, I remember being told it did not contain the virus. I was a bit confused. I was not able to get the covid vaccine because the flu vaccine was a bit rough on my body, to put it mildly.
True- what might work for one may not for another, yet this ***TRIGGER WARNING covid gene therapy (as it actually isn't even a vaccine to begin with) was to be administered to everyone, only the Canadian Military was offering exemptions with proof of a medical condition- which again, in the end if you got the shot you ended up with!

Exemptions were very hard to get, and for those who got them they were barely accepted.

Sure...how about this...you keep getting your covid shots, please and we won't.

In the end the truth will prevail. Good luck!

Indeed I will. I will keep getting relevant vaccines.

If you don't want to , don't - that doesnt change what I said about you, oops, your husband, not giving any evidence t o support your claims but just posting links which in fact say otherwise than what you think. Perhaps you don't read them first?

and posting silly memes isnt evidence - anyone can make one of those to say anything

If nobody else has anything new to say I will leave you to talk to yourself, oops, each other, now

I guess yo u will have to find another anecdote to start another thread when this one peters out.

Nice quote - applies rather well to anti vaxxers.

and cute quotes and silly memes trump evidence any day.
What's with your "anti-vaxer" cult mind? Everyone is anti-vaxers if they question safety- so then I should label you anti-safey...I will make a meme for that- as humor is healthy and healing...if you can't accept humor you'll perish in gloom

Sure did.
MLK was a civil rights icon. You know, those civil rights that you vaxxers tried to take from us! Telling us to die, be refused health care, be fired, be ostracized from society...you know THOSE civil rights!

He fought to get them, protect them and he famously QUESTIONED everything. Never took anything as it was. Always used philosophy and logic to get to the bottom of something.

Maybe learn your freaking history. He would never say questioning stuff is wrong. He would have supported it 100 percent.

And if you are that idiotic to not question anything, please pm me, I got stuff to sell!
