Yes, I tested positive for Covid. My first bout was in March 2021. Even though there was no testing available, I had just visited Seattle (a hot spot at the time) and had all the symptoms. I had aches, chills and fever, but by far the worst symptom was the incredible chest congestion. When I coughed, I sounded like I had TB. I remember being in line in a restaurant when no one was wearing masks and Covid was barely a thing and having the women in front of me give me the "stink eye" when I coughed. And it lasted for months. My partner, who rarely gets sick, also developed terrible congestion and coughing that seemed to last forever, so we're pretty sure he had it as well.
I have been twice vaxxed and boosted once. As a result, I haven't worn a mask in public places for a couple of months. Thursday I woke up with a sore throat and a bit of congestion when I coughed. I was on the phone yesterday with a friend and when I talked my throat was so dry I started hacking. I've had very mild sweats as well. I haven't lost my appetite nor my energy level. I was at the gym on Friday, and today we ate barbecued ribs and I scarfed them up. I still have the congestion, but the coughing isn't nearly as frequent nor does it sound like I'm Typhoid Mary. I attribute this not only to being vaccinated but the fact that I am much more healthy now than when I was working. I no longer wear out my body traveling, I work out frequently, I eat more healthy because I'm home and I take numerous supplements. Anyway, I'm hoping for the best.
We have couple of home Covid tests. I tested positive today, but my partner did not so we are keeping our distance and wearing masks. Ironically, his company granted their employees a week off that must be taken during a certain period and he chose this coming week. I hope to become healthy enough to join him at a few venues, while wearing a mask. I've canceled a Tuesday massage because I told them I didn't want to infect other people. Fingers crossed!
