Daylight Savings Time - Second Sunday in March

I detest this idiotic custom. It doesn't make sense to change clocks twice a year. We have electric lighting, so whatever you do at noon, you can do at 12 AM or 3 AM. And the fact we have time zones means your position within those zones makes "noon" at most a hour different from one side of the zone to the other.
That's my rant on lousy clock changing. I hate changing clocks because I'm weird about it. I to have all the clocks set at exactly the same time. If most of the clocks are 3:01, and one is 3:02, well, life is just not worth living!!!!!! It irritates the hell out of me. I have ten clocks/devices to set. AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
You'd think that since I'm a stickler about the exact time, I would always be on time. Nope, I'm one of those people who's always late. So that means I'm late about changing my clocks. So for about 3, 4 days I get to be one hour even later.
I just hate changing clocks.

Like you, i am not a fan! But for different reason. I've always been in tune with nature. My sleep patterns (tho usually same total hours per night) shift slightly as the amount of daylight increases and decreases over course of year but that is a matter of minutes per day--- not a sudden artificial and unnecessary full hour shift that takes a toll on my body.

And takes a toll on my patience, having to change not only my watch, but the handful of clocks (and alarm clocks) in our place.

I woke up at my "regular" time this morning....which doesn't rely on a clock. After a routine breakfast, I spent a few minutes going through the house and set the clocks, and checked the smoke detector batteries. I'll set the vehicle clocks the next time we use the car/truck.

One of the "perks" of being retired is that I really don't care what time it is....unless I have an appointment, etc. I suppose those who are still working need a couple of days to "adjust", but I passed that situation years ago.

Already posted on last week's DST thread how the public is being manipulated by "[media] advertisers, retail, leisure, media, and travel industries, and their political allies."

https://www.seniorforums.com/threads/should-daylight-savings-time-be-ended.69294/#post-2032117

What is never mentioned by pro DST news articles is that if the public doesn't like during spring and fall going home during evenings in the dark, instead of changing clock time, they could instead simply request whatever infrastructure to change the time they operate. For example, have employers or schools change operating hours say from 9 to 5 to 8 to 4. During summer we get up and go home during daylight so there is no issue. Conversely during winter, it is dark when we get up and go home during daylight so again there is no issue except by being on ST, dark periods are at least even, early and late. In any case, this is more an issue at northern areas where daylight hours change more due to natural Earth tilt sun illumination physics and less to the south.

Those promoting DST realize it is far easier to convince the simple thinking of the public masses to change the clock time versus requesting commercial and government entities to change their operating hours. That noted, operating times regardless are being changed all the time and given modern communication, it is easy for citizens to know about changes by simply turning on their smartphones then going to whatever websites or making a phone call. Thus I see their primary argument as flawed and manipulative.

Changing the time doesn't make any sense to me. People have been complaining about it for years but nothing is ever done. I suppose just like that song says in "Fiddler On The Roof." "TRADITION" Every spring the clock moves forward. Every fall it falls back. It might be wrong and it might be right but it most definitely it is TRADITION.

I think who ever thought up DLS should rot in hell, and twice a year we rotate him. I had forgotten the reason I don't like DL:S. It takes 3-4 days for my body to get used to the change. Last night, I went to bed at 11PM, but my body said, "why are you taking a nap at 10 PM?". I woke up every two hours. Finally at 5 AM, I had to get up. I'm going to be all screwed up for the next 3-4 days.

told my husband to reset clocks ... He forgot so i got a text from my walking buddy and had to literally run out the door to join group since i thought I still had a hour..... not fun

Most of our clocks (computers, phones, my Kindle, the tv) reset themselves. Reset stove, and a digital wall clock in living room that we more often look at because it has a temperature feature.

My current car does not because i don't have the Onstar activated and it wouldn't let me manually. But it was on DST so it was just ahead all winter. That's not as problematic as being behind, we got used to it quickly.

My problem is what @fuzzybuddy wrote this morning about how it messes with my body rhythms, sleep pattern.
