a month or so ago, go an email about the delivery of an Amazon purchase i made. something costing over $300 that i knew i didn't purchase. there was the option to call an 800 number, but i remember i didn't immediately do that. when i started getting anxious, i actually had to google "amazon" for contact number. pleasant person on other end... 1st question... what's my amazon account number? i don't have one. was told... that was someone trying to get info. my initial thought was, i didn't want to deal with getting $$ back where it belongs. if i had called the number on the original email, would have been told... all is well, but would have given up more info to scammers.
now seems like i get similar emails every single day. i don't do a lot of online shopping so anything out of line would stand out. are you seeing this more frequently?
