Derek Chauvin stabbed in prison:

oooh now we're becoming pedantic...ok when my father kicked me in my spine.. and broke my back he didn't beat me...when the guy in the street attacked another guy and hit him with one punch knocking him down and killed him, he didn't beat him....

...... grasping at straws now... you're argument is weaker than water..
Some people will bend over backwards to blame the victim if his skin is black or brown, while defending murderers if their skin is white. Very telling.

It's clear many here assume Chauvin is a victim. Perhaps Chauvin instigated the incident and the other inmate was defending himself.
From what has been published about the prison incident Chauvin was stabbed. The person who is stabbed is the victim of the stabbing and the person who stabs someone is the perpetrator. Yet, some seem to have knowledge that Chauvin set up his own stabbing. Maybe so. Please link us to your information. If it is not as the news reports indicate and your version is correct I don't think anyone will have a problem adjusting to that. We just need a link.

I was just thinking that exact same thing SB... when someone shows you who they are...believe them
Accusing someone of defending murderers if their skin is white is really wrong and so is agreeing with it.

Chauvin was the perpetrator in the first case. Chauvin was arrested, charged, tried, convicted and jailed. In the face of all that it would be pretty hard to blame the victim.

How about a general apology for the racist implications and a cooling off period?

keep going showing as much ignorance as you're showing...it's not helping your argument

How about a reality check? Nothing to apologize for, that's ridiculous. Chauvin is a murderer who was sent to prison. He is not the first inmate to be assaulted behind bars, and he won't be the last. Stop your crying for this killer and defending him. If he didn't kill, he would not be in the prison system. As I said, the man he murdered would happily take a knife in the gut, rather than a knee on his neck for nine minutes which led to his death.

I'm not surprised that there's not enough class among you to apologize for the racism accusations or spell out who you were accusing. If it was me then it's even worse because I have not defended Chauvin. I simply pointed out that he has been punished and you are supporting crime. Justice has already been administered.

Did you do anything for Floyd’s family after he was killed? He had a little girl you know. Did you donate, go see his mom, anything to show how much you cared?

And like it or not the guy who used the knife will not get a prize unless you send him one. He will be punished according to the laws of this country just as Chauvin was.

And all of you can just keep the insults rolling.

Chauvin's past actions worth noting

If one is willing to look at Floyd's past history to inform them, perhaps a look a Chauvin's might balance that out. It seems like he was fully protected by the "blue wall of silence" during his career and the only thing different this time was the video.
I can't fault him for living in mostly white neighborhoods, but he was operating outside of where he actually lived and the numerous complaints about "excessive force" should have been a red flag. Thank you clarifying what many of us assumed all along.

Wow! Can’t believe I read all this hate.

My husband always said women were more blood thirsty than men. Not you, Della, you argue logic.
No, maybe women are just more empathetic and have feelings when they see someone slowly murdered. I also think most women don't like arrogant, callous murderers who look triumphant when they kill someone.

If you want to see "hate", watch the Derek Chauvin video. As far as I know, no one on this forum has intentionally killed anyone.

Thank you, well said.

Dereck Chauvin did not kill that man / commit murder .... That man died due to respiratory arrest , while being arrested for a crime.

Had he not been a criminal / committed a crime, he would still be alive today.

No, you're wrong. If he had not spent nine minutes with Chauvin's knee on his neck for no reason, he would still be alive. Chauvin is a racist pig with a bad record who gives other cops a bad name. Mr. Floyd would be alive today if Chauvin listened to others and let him breathe during those last deadly nine minutes of his life.

If Chauvin was black and Floyd was white, I wonder if you'd be singing the same tune and blaming the victim.....I doubt it.

" Chauvin's knee on his neck for no reason, he would still be alive."

Chauvin's knee was on his neck as a taught maneuver when making an arrest, of a resisting criminal.

"If Chauvin was black and Floyd was white, I wonder if you'd be singing the same tune"

Doubt all you wish .... But yes my tune would be the same.

"and blaming the victim.....I doubt it."

Floyd was not the victim .... he was the criminal.

Resisting arrest should not be a death sentence....or an excuse for a bad cop to kill for no good reason. No cop is judge, jury and executioner in the United States of America.
Black Americans are more likely to run from police or resist arrest, and for good reason. Far more bad things happen to Black Americans than Whites while in police custody. Not by other prisoners, but by the police themselves.

I disagree with RGP. Floyd was a victim that is a fact with zero doubt. Yes he did resist arrest. Yes he was asked to exit his vehicle. Yes in the video he claimed he was claustrophobic & continued to resist while being placed in the back seat of the police car claiming he couldn't breathe.

The whole incident took quite awhile with Floyd being subdued & his death due to the police technique of restraining.

That technique Chauvin used to excess was the cause of his death that is a fact with zero doubt.

For that death Chauvin was accused, tried in a court of law & sentenced to 22 years in prison
that is a fact with zero doubt.

While serving his sentence Chauvin was stabbed. He is a victim of a crime that is a fact with zero doubt.

Recognizing that Chauvin was serving his time for the crime he committed & was stabbed while doing that is not excusing Chauvin it is recognizing that Chauvin is a victim this time.

We have a justice system. Chauvin was tried by two juries, found guilty twice and sentenced. Stabbing was not part of the sentence.
You're right, not part of the sentance. Also, as previously pointed out, the stabbing has no connection to the Justice system. Stabbing, slashing and rapes are what inmates do, in their social heirachy. May sound twisted, but prison society is a reflection of the greater society outside of the prison walls .
