The bottom line. A black man died due to a police action whether by gun shot or choking, dead is dead.

Why does the man's skin color matter ? But true , dead is dead.

But [IMO] the real bottom line is ... no matter who you are ... behave & obey the law ... & you'll never need to worry about it.

The color of a man's skin isn't the issue. It's that the death in the UK with the death of a black man due to police action had no international exposer. Both dead yet one is discussed over in over180 posts the other not even known about.
The who & why are known now so the speculation might end this as a topic.

Wrong, the man in the UK was known about, and discussed on British Forums

He was a big guy, was likely very high and wasn't compliant with the police officers directions. There were enough officers on scene to take him down and cuff him up , but apparently the decision was made to beat him into compliance.
I remember watching that on the news..it was long after it had happened.. it had missed me somehow at the time... I remember screaming , and being very emotional at what was happening as I watched..I couldn't watch the whole thing all the way through

What did Rodney King do to deserve getting beat to hell?

From what I understand , King was beaten because he would not stay down when told to. He kept getting up. And that was seen as a threat. Now do I think it was right ? No ... there were enough officers on the scene to hold him / cuff him. Which is why I preach on here , now & in the past ... it is imparitive that no matter who [what color] you are , or who [what color] the police are if stopped , follow their commands to the letter. Particularly now'a days with the body cams. If a person obeys to the letter / behaves perfectly .... then there is no excuse for even one bruise on that person.

Since we are comparing cases ... let's not forget the Tennessee case of the young black guy beaten & I think killed by a group of black officers. It's not just white officers beating black guys ... but it seems thoses cases are the ones that get the most attention.

But again, as I also said ... Don't committ crimes in the first place .... Behave !!

OMG.
The great thing about the high moral ground is the view, on a clear day you can see right up your own arse.

Executed by an evil "person" intent on killing, this is not very easy to watch. He was found "not guilty" at trial but cost the city of Mesa, AZ at least $9.5M and they gifted him a pension.

Here again, you seem to demonize the police officer ... and in past posts you seem to embrace the career criminal . I do not understand this thinking.
Both were career criminals, but only one was in a protected class that helped him avoid any significant punishment for his misdeeds, until killing Floyd. If he'd been bounced from MPD long ago, which he should have been, he likely wouldn't be in a prison hospital w 22 stab wounds. The blue wall of silence failed him as it does society as a whole.

plus let's not forget that his wife divorced him almost immediately... if he'd been a decent misunderstood person she would have stood by him

Hey Holly. I think this is a bit of a stretch. I'd imagine the pressure of all the attention played a role. That's going to be a lifetime of hurt. That's more than enough, alone, to corrode a marriage. We like to think partners would stand by their man, but in this day and age................. Guilt can be like a virus, spreading among family members.

Of course, you may be correct, I just wouldn't assume it was so.
