Dishwasher - free delivery and complimentary snake

Hmmm....funny they didn't hook it up when delivered, they would have seen the snake for sure then. Wouldn't want to wait around for a pick-up and re-delivery, unless parts were missing. Since it's just a garter snake, I'd probably get it into a bucket and let it free outdoors...poor thing. :p

OMG..if I found that I would have to leave and throw a match in the door on the way out. I don't stop and ask a snake his credentials before reacting.

In my book the only good snake is a dead snake.....okay, now I'm going to hear how beneficial they are. They just have to demonstrate that quality at someone's house that appreciates it, not mine!

Seriously, Sears was confused about how to replace and deliver a new dishwasher? Were they confused about taking her money and delivering the one with the snake.

Di i like this comment from the story, how many boxes have you got in the garage?

The snake probably just crawled into the packaging and when it got against the sticky side of the tape that was it. It acts like a sticky trap for rodents. I know I found a rattler firmly taped into a box top in my garage a couple years ago

They must not have needed that dishwasher too badly to beg Sears to take it back. I mean, come ON - having a conniption over a little garter snake? I can understand if you found a Black Mamba taped to your new household appliance, but a garter snake?!?

Like SeaBreeze said, just grab the poor thing and toss it outside - what's the big deal?

I note - without prejudice - that this occurred in LA, the Land of Fruits and Nuts.

'Nuff said. :playful:

OMG, I can't even imagine. How did you handle it, Jill? Or I should say how did you get rid of it, quite sure you didn't "handle" it at all! I would've had nightmares for years.

My Miami cousin has found 2 rock pythons in her pool in the last few years, one just last month. They seem to be a way too common occurrence for south FL, as I mentioned in another thread. No one can let their animals or small children out of their sight. As if we didn't have enough problems with our North American snakes, now there are even far more serious worries for them.
