Do terrorists deserve the same Geneva protection as soldiers dressed uniforms?

Then, I would ask the question, "Should international terrorists be treated any harsher than domestic terrorists?" If a group of international terrorists attacked the Capitol of the United States and police officers died as a result, should they have the protection of the Geneva Conference? Or, should they be executed?
If convicted of murder then yes kill the person.

Legitimate gov't ?

Senior Chef, this is why we have the ignore button.

No different than what fascist regimes have done in Central America. Washington DC and the UN have no trouble validating them. And as shown in a previous post, they have majority support from the populace in Afghanistan. On that basis it legitimates their claim to their governance over that land. Since the USA lost the war it owes Kabul reparations for the depredations it imposed on that country. As we all know, war is Hell. But this is one war they did not start and they deserve a remedy for all the troubles imposed on them.

Majority support? Then why have brave Afghan women taken to the streets, protesting for their rights, only to be severely beaten for their efforts? We knew this was coming. Welcome to Hell, women of Afghanistan. My Afghan refugees are inconsolable since they heard this news.

The U.S. is responsible for those fascist regimes in Central America. We overthrew their democratically elected leaders and installed fascists who were subservient to U.S. corporate interests. We destroyed those countries.

Exactly. Then when the people who have been victimized seek asylum here certain people want to slam the door in their faces.

Wasn't me who made this quote. Interesting that the Taliban stopped the protest but not with tear gas, bullets, clubbings like the American police did. Not one woman was reportedly killed unlike what happened in the USA. Evidently, women have gotten better treatment from the government than minorities do in the USA.

We seem to be wandering all over the place. The subject is terrorists and what should we do with them.
Also, we could argue about whether the Taliban is, or is not a terrorist organization for months and still end up right where we started and never achieve anything.

I don't expect anyone to answer to answer this but I give a great deal of thought as to whether we should use every means possible to gain information from those who could lead us to the top leaders of terrorist organizations. And , yes, I refer to torture.

Some will say that torture does not work. I disagree. During WW2, the gestapo routinely used torture and it worked. Many resistance fighters eventually gave up the names and locations of others in their group. That, my friends is a matter of record.

American troops tortured victims in Abu Ghraib and all they got was false leads because those victims were not al-Qaeda members. Thus, all the torture, beatings, and murder of innocents did NOT work.

Torture, in my book, causes EXTREME PHYSICAL pain. Like electrodes to the *******s, Needles under the fingernails, beating with a club which breaks bones, sodomy with a coke bottle, etc etc.

Precisely what the American criminals did to innocents in Abu Ghraib. Sadly, they got off with light prison sentence when they deserved the firing squad for their crimes against innocents.

Apologies for attributing the quote to the wrong person.
Actually, some women received head wounds from being beaten with objects. Tear gassed, and tasered, according to CNN and other outlets. That sounds like clubbing to me. Also, Talibani soldiers have gone into houses, beaten

women, some to death, taken some as sex slaves. This occurred while evacuation was still taking place. Who knows if such practices continue? Taliban leaders themselves have admitted many of their soldiers do not protect women.

CNN quotes TOLO which is the news service loyal to the puppet regime imposed by Bush and the West. They indicated that violence occurred and that Taliban sent tear gas to disperse the crowd. However when I checked they did not present any video to confirm their claim:

https://tolonews.com/afghanistan-174508

I checked with the right wing Sky news and they report the same but offered no videos to support the claim. Then I checked France 24 which is a very reliable source and they presented this video which, if anything, shows more media than women protesting:

No violence, no clubbings, no tear gas.

Can you find any source which shows actual state created violence?

I only found one photo:

E-bmtSKWUAEKbAo

but,

"Taliban leaders on Twitter dismissed the videos being shared online of violence at the women-led protests. The head of the Cultural Commission, Muhammad Jalal, said that these demonstrations were "a deliberate attempt to cause problems," adding that "these people don't even represent 0.1% of Afghanistan."

They seem to suggest that the photo is fake. I wonder why her garments are so clean if she had been thrown into the dirt and tormented as she alleges. Where exactly are the rest of these alleged victims?

Lastly, I checked with Al Jazeera which actually reports quite objectively (it's from Qatar) and they, too, did not present any video evidence of this allegation. Perhaps some evidence will be updated soon.

Terrorists are not enemy combatants in a declared war. Terrorists are criminals. They are committing illegal acts. Murder is murder, regardless of political/religious views. They should be treated like any criminal , in a court of law, even with appropriate death sentences.
