Do you also get bombarded with TV lawyer ads?

Years ago we didn't have every ambulance chasing lawyer imploring us to seek their "help", what the hell happened? Arizona has dozens of these creeps on the tube daily. They outlawed cigarettes, alcohol, why not these bums?

I see several of them everyday on the TV, they should be taken off the air, just like the pharmaceutical ads.

IIRC it was around the mid 80s that lawyers started advertising on TV(here in CA). Big mistake, should have not allowed this scourge upon decency to gain legitimacy.

Before you knew it, 900 numbers 'phone sex' popped up,****** commercials(thank you Bob Dole), toilet paper ads(during dinnertime), adult diaper commercials all showed up in our living rooms. aaaah!

Lawyers really are leeches. We have a family friend who uses our address. Every parking summons and the lawyers send junk mail for weeks.

That's it Elfis. I'm sending a coupla my lawn darts to climb down your chimney. If you don't have one, no worries, they'd be happy to punch a hole in your roof.lol. Have a camo Xmas Philly!

Back in the day, it was considered unethical for lawyers and doctors to advertise. The doctors today still stand by that sentiment for the most part, but lawyers, well, what do you expect?

The docs are on tv and in the newspapers daily here in Florida since that's where more of their income comes from(elderly).

Jim---I used to think that there were too many ads on TV for giving money to the many different charities, but my wife and I give to St. Jude's on a monthly basis and also a small lump sum at the end of the year, which all started from one of their ads at Christmas time when Marlo used to be in the ads.

I really feel special when I am able to sit and hold them and maybe read a story to them. The first time that I went there, the nurse in the Leukemia section asked that if I ever came back would I wear my uniform. I told her that I would, if I come back. Three years later we went back to Nashville and decided to go to Memphis on the same trip and visit the kids. This was just before Christmas that we had gone to see the Country show at the Opry. The little kids were so delighted that a "policeman" came to visit them. The one little boy came up to me and said that he was going to be a cop when he grew up. I had to leave for a few minutes, so they wouldn't see me cry. It's a very over-whelming place.

I too give to St. Judes. I always remember Danny Thomas who never hesitated to work for and promote St. Judes. It would be heartbreaking to the toughest of us to have a small child tell us of a "grownup" desire knowing they wouldn't get a chance to live out that dream. Thank you for your service, I know full well how tough that job is.

How about Robert Vaughn (Bullitt, Towering Inferno, Man From Uncle) shilling for various law firms? We recently moved and thought we left him behind in NY state ... no such luck. Got down to VA and here he is again ... "Tell them YOU MEAN BUSINESS!" Ay yi yi !
