DO you answer your phone? Both my wife's and my cell phone is burdened with the automated phone calls and robocalls. It has got to the point that unless the phone announces or identifies the caller, from my contact list, We don't answer the caller an let it go to voicemail. 95% of the time no message will be left.

Hahahaha. I just now ignored three phone calls. Only one left a message-one of my foster kiddos new social worker. Ooops. But yeah,if I don`t recognize the number,I don`t answer. And sometimes even if I do.....;)

Only if I know who is calling but I don’t often give my phone number out to anyone. If someone calls and I don’t recognize the name then I don’t answer it. These days there are a lot of taped solicitors and once you answer, your number is sold to everyone and anyone. Nope! That ain’t happening here. EVER!

We shut both of our cell phones off when we go to bed. Any call that comes in on my cell, that I don't recognize, I let it go to voicemail. Any call that comes in with the word UNKNOWN (caller) is there, I don't answer. The only calls my wife takes at work are mine. Actually, my cell is the main phone.

No, since I have gotten the Digitone Call Blocker which blocks up to 1000 numbers, it hardly ever rings. The new ones that haven't been blocked yet, will ring but I don't answer. Instead, I block them so it won't ring the next time.

I don't answer my phone if I don't recognize the number. Sometimes I don't answer it anyway because I don't feel like talking on the phone right then. I am not a big phone talker -- maybe because I spent so many years of my working life with a phone balanced between my ear and shoulder.

Something to be said for living in the sticks. Dumped the land line long ago and use a cell phone. However, I have no cell service at the house. I have to go across the yard to the power pole and lean over the fence there to get a weak signal. :D Family all contact us through the internet (great DSL here), so, I have no pesky phone calls to disturb me.
When I'm on the road however and I turn on the cell, it surprises me the amount of BS phone calls that come through. Still don't answer them unless it's a known number.

Only if called ID tells me it's someone I want to talk to. I am beginning to get more and more of those automated calls...ugh.

I rarely get those automated calls any more , when I do, I just block 'em, on my cellphone ..

Like Ken..I have different ring tones for those people whose calls are important to me, otherwise if I don't recognise the number when it comes in , I let it go to answerphone..same with the landline..

Speaking of answering the phone, remember when it was fun? Who could it be? A friend or some boring person for your parents. Phone etiquette was very important.

When you called your friend and someone else answered you did not ask for your friend without telling the person who you were.
Hello, this is Mary, may I speak to Kathy? You had to identity yourself and I still believe this is the way it should be.

And horror of horrors -a child never in a million years dared to ask a caller "Who is this?" if the call was not for you! My mother went ballistic when I did that once- "You do not ask my caller for their identity- ever!" If the caller did not identify themselves, it's not up to a child to question an adult. IF I give you a signal, you ask-"May I ask who is calling" Then I'll decide how I'll proceed. Whew.

First it was telephone etiquette, now it's down to whether or not we'll even answer the phone whether it's a telemarketer or our own brother! LOL

Only if I recognise caller ID, other than that the calls go to answerphone
