Do you carry/wear a medic alert card/bracelet/necklace. I do wear a necklace and carry a card and that impressed the emergency responders when I was in an accident with the comment by one of the responders "I wish everyone did this"

Card - my name & address, contacts phones & addresses, Dr & phone number, Health issues, Medications doses and intervals
Necklace - meds/health issues

You have just reminded me that I have to check that I still have the card I used to carry in my purse. All the above info is on my phone and first responders know how to open this. I always have my phone. Wouldn’t help if someone stole it.

I have no need for a medic alert alarm yet. One neighbour wouldn’t wear one. Luckily his family, by chance, found him quickly.

I have a cell phone but not one of them there so called smart ones. Its a flip phone

Yep, I do. I'm on Warfarin, which is a blood thinner, so I could bleed out pretty quick from wounds. Plus, it is prone to numerous side effects from other drugs, foods, substances, etc. I hate it pretty much, but I have to take it because of a metal heart valve I had implanted. Warfarin (Coumadin) was actually originally used as a rat poison--yay! Lovely stuff. So, I keep an alert card in my wallet along with emergency contact info on it and in my phone.

Yep back in the day we used it to kill rats 😨

No.

I suppose one would choose to wear one if they have an illness that, if it manifests, could be adequately treated if dealt with in a timely manner. I don't really have any of those.

Of course there is always the "I have fallen and I can't get up" moments, but thus far, I can manage to get up if I fall on my butt. :D

I don't but my brother-in-law did/does... he's asthmatic, and is highly allergic to bee and wasp stings.. so without immediate antidote.. he can die...

he's 6.6'' tall.. a big guy but a little wasp or bee could kill him

No but we have our medical alert set up on our Apple Watches.

We have an Advanced care directive In our cupboard where it can be quickly accessed by any emergency services ,it covers many issues including if you wish to be revived by emergency services or medical person
its registered online via our GP for anyone / anywhere in the medical field to read follow the wishes of the named person , we also carry a small card relating to the ACD with our drivers licence

I don't wear it, but I once I wished I had since I could not get up from my cot due to excruciating pain in my neck whenever I attempted it. After struggling to no avail for a long while, I began worrying about not being able to reach the phone which was in the kitchen to call for help.

i do not but there is a medical app that came with the phone, that has all my information in it. my understanding is that emergency personnel know how to retrieve that information.
However, you have to remember that the first person to find you will not have access to your phone...so if you're having a heart attack or have been run over by car, and are unconscious, anyone who tries to save you before emergency services get there wont have access to your phone

On someone’s iphone swipe up on the locked screened. On the bottom left it says Emergency Contacts. Push that and you can reach the info.

My hubs has just got very new updated hearing aids that have a fall alert built into them

Im his first contact im not sure he if he can add other contacts if I don't answer my phone or not ..I must ask him

If he gets a phone call whilst driving he can touch a button on his heading aids to answer and hang up on any calls he gets

Our Apple Watches have fall alert and other alerts like unusual heart beat and will first alert the wearer if there’s an issue …… .,if that person is not able to touch the button ….saying I’m OK ……within a set time……..

The watch will call emergency services…. who will know where the person is simply by location on your phone …ES will try to phone you.
and if you don’t answer they will send out a first response car / or in some cases a motor bike

DH recently had a Atrial fibrillation attack ( unusual heartbeat ) and his watch alerted him ….we spoke to our GP
who immediately contacted a cardiologist ..who in turn phoned Hub within an hour , and asked him to email the ECG recording the watch automatically records to the phone if it detects an unusual heartbeat , within 5 mins he was able to email those results to the cardiologist…..of course…. NONE …..of this is possible unless you set up your phone and watch up to allow it to do these things, ….as well as having the location button turned on .

Atrial fibrillation Is NOT life threatening however it can cause strokes .

Im sure our watches are NOT capable of detecting heart attacks

Our watches are getting on now we’ve had them 4 year's we are a fan of them simply because we are not paranoid about all this privacy stuff that often gets shouted from the roof tops ..

We are registered for Medicare/ Centerlink / hospitals / drivers license/ doctors /chemists / banks ….. all of them have our private info …..Including our phone numbers date of birth/ address ….and the list gos on …

My neighbour has a medical issue and has a different brand watch ⌚️ which detects her heartbeat I’ve got no knowledge what other medical alerts it has …if any
