i can't afford a dishwasher and i don't think i have enough water pressure for one. plus i never have enough dishes to make it worth having one.
We have a similar model.

There's only the two of us, we share the mealtime duties. One of us will cook and prepare our meal, the other washes up. There's not that much to do and we always cook two additional meals which we freeze for another time.

I got my first one about 20 years ago, we've had four or five since, each one worse than the one before. This latest one doesn't seem to understand that it's supposed to dry the dishes as well as wash them. They all take far longer than I think they should (3 hours!) make a lot of noise and leave me with all the greasy pots and pans. Not really worth it.

Yes I would like one, and the room to put it. Uses less water than my hand washing, even though I have items that I must hand wash.

@Della, I agree completely. In our old house the dishwasher was 13 years old when we moved in, 26 by the time we moved out, the only thing wrong was that it lost one of the upright tines on the lower rack. Fairly quiet and everything got clean on the short cycle. Not going to get that kind of service out of a new one.

I've had a dishwasher all my life UNTIL I moved into this little apartment this year. I'm below my renters during the Rental season. Now my renters have a nice new Bosch Dishwasher and I, being spoiled and stubborn, have nothing but self-disciplinary issues now about washing and drying each time I use anything. I cook for 3 because my dogs eat homemade meals but different than what I eat.

It has taken me months to adjust...finally...I got this!...and NOW I'm moving back upstairs for the Off-Rental-season.
That's really going to set me back 😊 Sometimes you don't realize a blessing until it's gone 🙏
I've never heard of "Rental Seasons" and "Off-Rental" seasons. If you have the time could you please explain to this Canadian?

End up washing the dishes before I load them, but it does finish them and allow them to dry out of the way. Use the 30 min quick wash. Otherwise, dishes don’t get clean. Our hard water ruins the dishwasher in our home - unless we get a water softener, we will not bother getting a new one.

I've used a dishwasher for so long, it has spoiled me. I just hope this one last as long as I need it. I can't stand the thoughts of having to get a new one with all the electronic controls on them that they have now.

I have never owned a dishwasher, but one place that
I rented had one, but I didn't use it, waste of electricity
and water to clean a couple of plates and a cup.

Also, I believe that, as a dishwasher sterilises crockery
and cutlery, it could be reason that there are lots of
children with allergies, they cannot build a robust enough
immune system.

That is what I think.

Mike.

@Mike: And they are so busy with their cell phones and computer games they don't get out enough! And that's where we acquire our immunity.

When we were both working fulltime, yup, wanted that dishwasher. Now that we are both retired, we have the time to wash everything by hand, no dishwasher.

We have a dishwasher that has barely been used in the 17 years we've lived in our house. It is only the two of us so we hand wash our dishes in the sink and put them in dish drain to dry.

I was watching a documentary about these Indians in a remote part of the Amazon rain forest. All the huts had electricity, and telephone poles and satellite dishes were everywhere. In one hut, there even was a dishwasher :).
Do you have/want/don't want a dishwasher?
Don't have and don't want a dishwasher. Many, many years ago before we bought our first house, we lived in an apartment with a dishwasher. I was unhappy with the results, and just continued to wash my own dishes in the sink. I've seen the cleanliness of dishes, cups, etc. from other people who used dishwashers, and was not impressed. Doesn't take much effort to wash your own dishes. Of course, if you like it, use it, to each his/her own.
