Do you remember your dreams?

I do dream a lot and remember very few the next day. I seem to have recurring dreams quite often. Dreams involving heights seem to take up much of night. I hate heights.

Have you you ever been just starting to go to sleep and your whole body jumps and you wake up? My wife does this more than I do. It's kind of a scary feeling.

I remember many of my dreams, often in great detail. I dream in vivid colors, have lucid dreams at times, and have had recurring dreams and one prophetic dream when I was young. When my dreams are good, they are fantastic, like paisley printed cats and lilac colored chow chow puppies. My nightmares can be intense, I've told my husband, who likes horror movies, that I could make a fortune on a few of my nightmares if I could make a movie from them.

When I was young, three nights in a row I dreamed that I was sick in bed, and my friends were around my bed visiting me with presents. I told my mother I thought I was going to come down with the flu or something and be in bed according to my dream. A few days later, a drunk driver nodded off at the wheel going 45mph. I was waiting to cross a street at the light, and he came right up on the sidewalk. Luckily he just clipped me with the corner of his bumper, so I just had a few broken/cracked bones and had some stitches. Needless to say, I spent time in the hospital, and my relatives and friends were there visiting me with gifts.

When I have lucid dreams like flying, I can control how fast and high I go, and it's great. Sometimes in a nightmare, I'm aware that I'll be okay regardless of the situation, and that I'm just dreaming. I often try to yell loudly in the dream on purpose, and end up waking myself with a vocal noise.

I've had a lot of pretty wild and unusual dreams, too many to list them all. If I take Melatonin before bed for sleep, my dreams will be more intense.

SeaBreeze, your experience with dreams sounds almost identical to my own - except for your prophetic dream. I love the flying dreams. Sometimes I have the sensation of floating right out my bedroom window and soaring up into the night sky. So free and beautiful!

Sounds like an OBE. I started to have one once, the vibrations, but I got scared and woke up.

When I was younger I used to get a lot of flying dreams, swimming dreams and driving dreams. I'd be leaping off the tops of mountain peaks or swimming in a beautiful ocean. Then there were the recurrent dreams of being in different houses, walking around strange rooms. After my mother died I dreamed she was standing in front of me in a long red gown, something she would never wear. There would be the dreams of being back in high school and being lost in the hallways, trying to find my class.

I don't really know if dreams mean anything or not, maybe it's just an indication of what's going on in my life and what I'm processing in my mind. These days my dreams are less intense and I often don't even remember them.

Like Sea and others, I dream vividly and in color sometimes when I wake, it I can still feel remnants of some things that had just happened, sometimes that good often horrifying. Imagine just about being consumed by a huge shark, iyi yi. I love my dreams that involve my siblings, mostly we're doing some family functions or house hunting for placing to move in together, but, it's always them alive and very vivid and alls well, I don't wake sad, I generally love the dreams involving family, I dream about most of them at various times.

I had a dream just last night I was with my sisters and I had one a few days ago, been having a lot of those lately, the night before was something to do crocodiles, that wasn't pleasant in anyway; those things were massive. I'm not sure why, (well, I do have some idea,) but, reptiles, sharks, large cats, dinos are recurring themes in some of my dreams as well as the flying theme along with several others like being naked at inopportune moments. I wake often, so, I have more than one dream a night. Last night, I also had to climb and descend from several high places, I detest that type of dream considering my fear of heights but that too is a recurring theme in some of my dreams, maybe that one was saying I need to come down off of my high horse. LOL or simply that I'm taking on too much and need to dial it back before I hit bottom really fast. The locations of where I was climbing and trying to descend changed a couple of times, one time it was some outdoor location I had been at with some of my meetup group members the next minute it was some type of warehouse location high above boxes and I was telling the person below, why in the world would these people need to stack these darn boxes this high. I was knocking boxes down trying to create a layer that in case I tripped as I made my decent, my fall wouldn't be too harmful. I do enjoy remembering the romantic ones though, except where there's no hap. ;)

I've dreamed like this since I was as young as 5, too many horror movies, I had no business seeing that mostly I saw with my older siblings, I loved watching them, but, those movies did a lot of damage in my sleeping hours of which lasted well into my teens.

I did the final exam/course credit anxiety dreams for years, thankfully haven't done those in a long long time.

Most memorable dream, realistic dreams of a romantic nature...

Yes, those can be fun, I don't have enough of those. LOL

I wake with a 'start' and wonder if I've been vocal... :mask:

April, I had a dream not long ago that a crocodile was chasing me.

It's been a while but I've had quite a few of the being out in public and discovering you're missing some or all of your clothing. Or I'm running away from someone bad and my legs don't work right and I try to scream but can't.

Sometimes now I dream I have to go to work or I'm going for a job interview or I'm going back to college and feel unprepared.

Well, a few years back, I found out, I had been vocal, one of my friends was staying with me for a while. I also had a very bizarre during a camping trip where I startled one of my camping mates as I woke crying out in one of my dreams, it was one of the most bizarre dreams that I still have some details I still recall to this day involving a well known novelist as well. I'll tell it sometime, it is one of those dreams, I have no explanation for it was that out there and believe me, my dreams can really be out there.

Ameriscott, I can definitely relate to all you said, those types of dreams are exhausting to the spirit when they happen.

A couple of times I've had dreams where someone was trying kill/hurt me or was chasing me and I made noises in my sleep. My DH woke up but didn't want to wake me until I'd calmed down.

I have dreams all the time and I usually remember them. Almost 22 yrs ago I had a dream and I remember it like it was yesterday. My Dad had passed away a few months before. Most of the family was in the room as he passed. My niece Lisa threw herself on the bed crying and she said "God if you let my Grampop stay I will never ask for a baby again." I was so upset that I pulled her a off my Dad and told her my father would never trade his life so she could never have a baby. After a few weeks in December I had a dream and my Dad was in it and talking to me. He said "Tell that kid Lisa a nice little boy is coming her way. Tell her to remember April and 313. I told my niece the next day and she started to find a fertility Doctor. In the mean time Her brother had bought a new home and his neighbor was very upset because his cousin was expecting a baby and would have to put the baby up for adoption . My nephew said his sister would adopt the baby. They got a lawyer and in April the woman had a little boy. My niece got him when he was only 2 days old. When they went to the courtroom to make the adoption final the courtroom was 313. I am a true believer that dreams sometimes really come true.We will be celebrating the boy,who is now a man ,his 21st Birthday. We were so Blessed to get him.
