Do you think men are more effeminate?

"She didn’t say men need be kind and sensitive 24/7! "

I do not believe it is easily turned on or off ! A man,[heck anybody] is what he is [they are] mostly by nature . Yeah sure a person can have temper "flares" but IMO, that is temporary. Again opinion but....I also believe that is why combat soldiers sometimes have a hard time [dialing it back] . They live as an aggressor for 1-2 however many years......and being praised for doing so......then suddenly they are expected to behave in an entirely different manner.

As I said, it takes a hard man [men] to win a boots on the ground/face to face war..........jmo.
I don’t believe emotions can be turned off and on at will when needed either. If that were the case, then everyone in the world would be in perfect harmonious bliss all the time and that’s clearly not the case.

To be brutally honest , I don’t know how you guys do it. If I were forced to go to war, I’d probably make sure I was killed so I wouldn’t have to kill others.

I’m friends with a woman who councils victims of war, most being men who have been brutally traumatized. She often has to deal with their suicides and other self sabotaging behaviour.

Clearly human beings can’t just switch off their feelings. I’m a prime example of that. I suffer from P.T.S.D., and it’s not an easy thing to deal with. I don’t think anyone expects instant normal behaviour from solders after coming from a war zone.

It’s too bad war heroes couldn’t wear a certain colour or something to differentiate them from others. Perhaps others could learn to treat these people with more kindness and compassion considering the hardships they have endured.

I’m not claiming to have an answer to all this rpg.
Like yourself, I’m just expressing my opinion.
My grandfather, whom I never met, was a POW for over 5 years. Apparently he was never the same when he came back. It’s something that’s haunted my mom ever since. 💔

Maybe it's just me, but when I see a well known celebrity being paid for commercials, it always smacks of desperation, like they're short of money and can't get enough doing their line of work. William Shatner is another one making commercials. Selleck has the TV cop show, isn't his income enough? Reverse mortgages are good for the insurance companies most of the time, except for when the insured lives too long past their anticipated demise (very few of them do).
To me, it smacks of unbridled greed. None of those actors are short of money, if any net worth sites can be trusted.
I never thought that insurance companies got into the reverse mortgage scene. How does that play out, CL?

Your fact has now become a guess? His net worth only goes to prove that he doesn't need the money he earns doing commercials. As for whether or not he understands reverse mortgages, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. It's just not that complicated. If you take the time to review his body of work on the IMDB, you'd be surprised that he's ONLY worth $45M. Oprah Winfrey makes commercials for "O, That's Good" pizza but maybe she's never eaten pizza? She's worth $2.7 BILLION.
You've proven my point, without having a clue. I'm done with this absurd "#$%%ing contest."

Gender roles and characteristics are far less cast in concrete than they were in my father's day, which for the most part is a good thing. At least the element of personal choice can now factor into the equation, and few of us fall at the polar extremes of the continuum scale...

I just assumed it was an insurance company. Once I found out about the basic rules, I lost interest and didn't read further. If I knew I'd live to 100, it might be a good deal, but they obviously hope you die right after you sign on the dotted line. Customers who live long mess up their profit margins.

As for commercials & movies etc......Hollywood in general, I think they are all overpaid . But, I am happy with both my dollars and begrudge no one for their $$$. IMO many of these "stars" just can't get enough attention, they crave it. So when their "star" begins to dim....they take what ever they can find.....And their name & face tends to sell whatever it is they're pitching.

I used to like Selleck , for the Jesse Stone series, and the Quigley Down Under movie but.....he slid way down my favor list when he started doing these reverse mortgage commercials.

Oh, I just LOVED the Jesse Stone series, loved his character, and I was crying like hell when he had to put down his dog Boomer. My favorite was "Jesse Stone: Thin Ice", it was the best of the series.
