Do you walk the walk or just talk when things anger or frustrate you?

on what basis do you presume I am swiftly, superficially and unfairly judging people???

Why don't they quit? Maybe their wife or their child is disabled and the market for other jobs is horrible.

That has nothing to do with backbone. And I am sure there are professional studies which clearly demonstrate that the vast majority of people who do not quit jobs, do not quit them, because of financial pressures, medical problems and on.

I don't know why you want to back up the business community, as if they are some pristine example of puppies and lollipops.

It's all just a big financial game, so that a handful of people can skim off millions for themselves and leave the rest of us in the cold.

I remember the 70s, when plenty of companies were honorable and treated their employees well.

We are not living in those times...

Again you miss the point and assume things i did NOT say .... zero about big business but if people follow through on their beliefs
Yes there are multitudes of reason why people do not quit .....
Backbone comes in when someone shoots off their mouth even anonymously in hopes of an audience and people buying what ever they say ........then going on about their work like they are Team players ......
I frankly think this can apply to a mom and pop place clear up to big business ....

When i wrote this post was thinking the bigger concept.............. then Twitter ... i do not tweet nor have an account ..... Musk came out and said something similar that the reaction shows exactly what he was talking about all along...

I am talking about the people ...thought this was an example of people losing their minds and spreading their thoughts (anonymously) ...........but not having the Conviction to follow it through...quit or say it without hiding in anonymous land.

I worked with a person who was fired from a job unjustly IMO .... the management was very slimy .....
I vowed to not frequent that business again and have NOT ......... meanwhile the woman fired still shops there ... because it is on her usual route home.
I asked her how she could continue supporting the very people who screwed her over?
i decided if being easy to get to was worth more to her then not spending her money there ... that was her decision but ..... if i was in her shoes they would have never gotten another dime from me.
That is what i mean by walk then walk .....
Lady yesterday told me she was on a sodium restricted diet but in same sentence said she had dinner at PF Changs.... one of the most loaded sodium foods ever......
I have little respect for those whom openly expose themselves as just TALK.
You just reminded me of two amusing incidents that happened years ago. One was in the workplace; a co-worker was talking about how bad sugar is for you, and boasted that she never touched the stuff, herself. Five minutes later, I walked into the break room and saw her stuffing her face with cookies. I pretended not to notice.

The other one happened after visiting the house of a friend. She too, started boasting about how she and her husband were eating healthily, etc. After I left, I stopped at a gas station/convenience store combo up the road. A few seconds later, my friend drove up and went inside the convenience store. While I was filling the tank, she came sailing out with a bag full of junk food, she saw me, and blushed hard. These people were obviously just talk!

I would go one further and call them Liars... ;)

oh, and I saved the best for last...

Yup, Tesla paid ZERO in taxes! ZERO! Yeah, sure, this guy cares about the country? Won't even pay his fair share of taxes...or ANY TAXES!!!

Tesla reported $5.5 billion in profit last year. It depends on federally funded roads, bridges and freeways for its electric vehicles. Yet the company pays $0 in federal taxes.

I don't blame him for that unless he donated a lot of money to politicians who wrote the tax codes that allow large, profitable corporations to avoid paying taxes. Even then, he's just playing the system the way it's structured. It's the people who vote for corrupt politicians who are to blame.

I would guess they need to be anonymous because they don't have power or protections, they could just be fired. So they aren't lacking backbone they are showing they are not completely stupid. I only had a few jobs in my career that had good management where we could speak honestly about issues at work. Some places I worked the different department managers were essentially at war with each other, trying to make each other look bad, not providing what they should to the other departments, and us peons had to pretend to have allegiance to our particular awful manager, and to sneakily help out the people in the other departments.

I think people who own Tesla stock love Musk.
When the pandemic started, I owned Tesla stock. I graphed it going back about a year, and it was like a money tree. Sure, it went down sometimes, but it always recovered. I had my mathematician daughter look at the graph, and she agreed with my assessment.

Since then, I've bought and sold Tesla a few times, and always made a significant (to me) profit. Musk can tank his own stock just with tweets, but it always recovers nicely.

I really enjoy trading stocks, and all the work that goes with it. I don't own any now, though.
