Does any commercial get you upset ?

Although the commercials are indeed annoying, the thing that is much more than that, and IMO should be illegal....is the disclaimers at the end. They are in many of commercials read/spoken so damn fast there is no way they can be understood. It almost sounds like they use an auctioneer ! although I'm sure it is just a sped up part of the recording.

I listen to talk radio in the mornings, it is even worse there.

Again opinion, but I feel the FCC should require them to spend the same amount of time on the disclaimers , as they do on the ad............jmo

Yes, to all the above...
I find the Holocaust Survivors, ASPCA.......are disgusting.

The worst are bald headed children, whether it be from starvation or cancer...
All, All! are in very poor taste, think you for attempting to disturb
Yes, you are right, they are disgusting. It is disgusting that these things exist at all, and important that you leave your tea party with crumpets so you can be made aware of their existence. You should be disturbed by these things. My, my how very dainty you are jerry. I have smelling salts for you if you need them and a nice couch for you to swoon on.

Almost every commercial gets on my nerves, but there are a few that make me upset. If I see a commercial about a child having cancer or an adult having cancer,I get very upset. With all the technology we have today the only reason we haven't found a cure is because the pharmacy companies would lose money. Years ago without the technology of today they found a way to prevent Polio and other conditions. Why now do people have to suffer so much. It makes me so upset.
I agree with you 100%. It’s frustrating to know the pharmaceutical industry is so greedy that they will watch children die!

Yes, to all the above...
I find the Holocaust Survivors, ASPCA...any preacher type that appears on a regular basis (direct TV has 7 or 8, on 24 hours a day.
and all the above post are disgusting.

Why do the bald-headed kids bother you so? Is it the fact that they are sick ? Yeah that bothers me as well.

I do sort-of question the Holocaust survivor ad. For one thing most of those folks are dead, and IMO not too many of them that are still alive, actually live in a shed......I could of course be wrong, but I suspect that the persons enjoying the contributions gathered are not Holocaust survivors at all.

Yeah, I'm suspicious of that too and if I remember right, there is a Russian connection, if we're thinking of the same ad, an old woman in a shed in Russia.

Not long ago there was a breakdown about the operating cost of many of the charities......including the pay [at the top] . That is when i quit donating.

Conspiracy theory, IMO. There is no cure for cancer. There are great examples of arresting it's spread, an example of modern research at its best. Doctors will say "you have no signs of cancer," but they will not say you are cured.

I knew of this over 40 years ago when I worked in the fund raising industry. I still know people in it. People must get paid, true; but getting rich is something else.

Since no has mentioned it, one of the biggest publicized scams is the "Wounded Warrior Project." Same type of ad, same BS, same pathetic display to get into your wallet via your emotions. I'm surprised they can still afford the ad, even after the scam was publicized. People who donate are just as wrong as the scam artists because they're rewarding thieves.

That's the part that pissed me off....the the high pay received by a select few. I do not remember the numbers but, some of the salaries were way up there . I have no beef with people making a lot of money, in the free enterprise manner. But not by the pure kindness of other folks.

My cousin worked for many years, for Nat/Geo. The magazine, a high position [she's from the smart side of the family] ;) She survived breast cancer, retired & now volunteers for a breast cancer awareness organization.

Yeah , I know, I'm bragging........but I think many more like her are needed, to head these organizations.

Just not that many out there I suppose?

I agree. Cancer is a business. And it irritates me to see all these pictures of bald people smiling. Why are they smiling if they're that sick??? And they don't have to do chemo; there are other options.

The ads for expensive prescription meds. make me angry. Especially the ones who speed-read through the warnings. And the dumb ones that tell you 'don't take if you're allergic to it'.
They're required by law to have disclaimers. "Don't take Toxinol if you have a history of bla bla bla." In other words, DON'T take Toxinol.

YouTube gives me constant commercials for Boomsticks, because I watched ONE video. What annoys me most is that they feature the company's founder, an aging model who has been dead for a few years!!!

Are you kidding? Did you ever have cancer? Two time survivor here. Are you an oncologist, or a surgeon perhaps? I'm sorry, your post is ignorant.

They are smiling because they are alive and because they can buy a wig if they want to so as not to disturb your sensibilities.

All I said was that there are other options. I'm not telling anyone else what to do.
Again, I'm sorry, as again, you are choosing ignorance. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Other "options" may not work. Or, a patient might require several options. Or...........why bother?

I don't want to argue with you. I'm simply expressing my viewpoint. I don't have to submit to any treatment I don't wish to.

the commercial i think is disgusting is the man setting on the toilet with his pants down taking a sh$$t advertising stinky poo and then a burger king commercial comes on for a whoper--it makes me want to run out and get one-lol

Saw that one just today.......Geeez ! Are the ad men that desperate ?

Pepper, not making light of Cancer for sure. I have lost two close friends to it, and have another friend as well as a cousin who has survived it but.........It has become a business all the same, along with many , if not all of the "major" diseases .........jmo.

What is the business aspect? Please share? Are they telling people they have cancer when in fact they don't?

They will never say those words "you are cured". IMO, there is a cure, they may/may not have found it yet.
