Well, Nathan, the BBC and ITV in the UK and I'm sure other news outlets in the US may have reported this story, so it seems that it is important to traditionalists who like their superheroes to remain the same.
Create new superheroes of any sexual orientation by all means, as many as people want, but leave the existing ones alone, that way no-one is offended. Easy peasy.
