Maybe I just never noticed it when I was younger, but it seems like there is so much false "drama" in news reports today, including weather reports. It's comical when I hear the local weather forecasters reporting how intense the weather is. A fellow had a close-up of rubbing his shoe on around 1 1/2 inches of slush...as he warned us all of how serious that may be, especially when it ices over in the morning hours.
The weather reporters will beg for moisture when there is drought, complain about rain/snow when we do get it, complain that lack of wind has caused pollution conditions, and then warn of usual winds when they do come. In summer, they complain that it's been cloudy, overcast and rainy...then 4 days later, complain that it's too hot, sunny and dry. It's amazing how many people let their own attitudes and moods become affected by these news persons.
Really, it appears that they truly want to scare people, have them overreact to normal situations, etc. Sad thing is...it's working for too many folks out there.
