I'd love to hear about your dreams. Typically I have pleasant dreams . But last night I had nightmares . I dreamed people were voluntarily pulling up to a huge mountain in their cars. They were waiting to be taken to the top of the mountain to be put into boiling wax and melted. I could smell them melting in my dream . Hopefully it's kittens and puppies tonight. Geez

Melting puppies and kittens !!!!
Shock!! Horror !!!

I'd rather dream of ..... ?????
Well, almost anything else.

lol sillies! Quite frankly my cat is ap-pawed !! :p

My VERY WORST dreams are about being hunted down by Nazis. I wake up in a cold sweat and usually have to get up and turn on lights.
oh my...I hope you don't dream that very often :hide:

I've always had very weird dreams. If I lived in a aboriginal society, I think they would call me a seer or a shaman. Not saying that what I see in my dreams is prophetic.... I remember one I had when I was about fourteen. I was riding down this hill on my bicycle. It was in the rural area where I lived. People were standing along the road with knives and as I went by they were trying to slice chunks off of me.

On a humourous note, recently I dreamed that there was a large tame chicken in my living room. I have two cats who fancy poultry, so I picked up the bird, held in close, and decided to let it play on the balcony amongst the plants. Lol.

My dreams are always very detailed and colorful. One of my worst nightmares was walking alone in the dark down a city street with a lot of fog, suddenly in cars around me, dead people like zombies sat up, turned their head and looked at me, when I tried to walk away, it would happen in another car. Usually watching scary movies was the reason. Other ones I don't like are where I'm lost, or trying to find a restroom. :)

Mostly I have nice dreams, lilac colored chow chow puppies or paisley coated cats. I love the ones where I'm flying through the air above the trees, I can always control my speed and heights. Many dreams of being outdoors with animals, even when I'm afraid that a bear or wild cat may come after me, they never do. Never been really hurt or killed in a dream, so that's good by me. :D Whenever I take Melatonin for sleep, my dreams intensify, good or bad.

Nightmares are the result of unresolved issues in your life. The mind is troubled and cannot provide the rest needed because it remains active when it should be sleeping. Try a Taurine cap. or a teaspoonful of black cherry juice at night before bed.

Pleasant dreams.

I think recurrent dreams are the most interesting ones. I used to have one where I discovered my house had a third story I never knew about. When I went up there, the floor was falling through, the roof had holes in it, all the wood was rotted, and I realized my whole house was going to collapse, eventually.

I don't always dream but when I do have a nightmare it's always the same. I have forgotten the combination to open my locker in high school. I get so upset that it wakes me up. I don't remember being overly concerned about it when I was in high school but I guess the fear was there for it to resurface so many years later. I do dream of my loved ones who have passed on, and am so happy to be with them, but waking up and realizing they are gone causes such profound sadness that it takes awhile to shake the sadness away.

Dreams can be from what we watch on television. Sometimes I have the characters from the tv shows I watch in my dreams. Prior to the time we had a television, starting long before I went to school or learned to read I used to have dreams about the bombs that were about to fall, I had to get into a building or I would die. I got off a bus with the others and ran for the building. I didn't make it before the bombs went off. I died face down in the street. If past lives are true, I died during WWII on a cobble stone street trying to get to a large stone building. I woke up terrified. This went on for years. I ended it by somehow waking myself up earlier and earlier in the dream. I think I was in my twenties when I had the last one.

Shali, I think your dream about the chicken might have been because you've spent your life helping people escape the things that damage them, like you did by removing the chicken from the cats.

Ruth N Jersey, I also have dreams about those who have passed. If they have just passed, then I have sadness when I wake up. After they've been gone for years I'm just glad they came to visit me in my dreams.

I used to have a similar dream where I went upstairs in a big house and opened doors to upper floor rooms, only to discover there were no floors in the rooms. Wonder what this means? I haven't had the dream in many years, but used to have variations of it all the time.

Maybe it meant that you didn't feel like your growth to a higher level was supported, that you'd fall through if you tried.

My hormones are in overdrive, so for the past couple of weeks my dreams are of a particular kind and it's getting on my nerves. :( But in general, I often have weird dreams that I am so happy to wake from, some more frieghtening than others. I especially hate when the involve snakes, big cats like lions, tigers, gators, sharks King Kong, dinosaurs, being chased or where I'm driving and just can't seem to get control of the car. See what I mean.

I'm pretty sure, looking back, what mine was all about. This was my first house. I bought it all on my own, primarily because of location to work, and because I loved 2 story houses. It didn't look that great, needed a lot of work, but was well built. My family thought I was crazy to buy it. Thought 2 story houses were stupid. I always felt I had to make apologies about buying it every time they came to visit. [In my family you weren't allowed to make stupid mistakes. It was frowned upon. Ha!]

The worst one I remember in recent years...thank you hot flashes...I was in my room when I was a kid. The office site in the distance went up in a nuclear cloud. The house right next to my window burst into flames. So detailed it took a few minutes after waking up to realize it wasn't real.

Re: Dreams

Good morning to all- Once I dreamed I had eaten the world's largest marshmallow. When I woke up, I discovered my pillow was gone!

Seriously, unless something wakes me up in the middle of a dream, I never remember them- which is good. I never liked dreams when I was younger.
I have enough trouble dealing with life during the waking hours- much less a dream world at night.

good day to all- Ed

My dreams are depressing a lot of times they're of my wife when she was still alive and we're always having fun. When I wake up I think about her all day dreams are so real sometimes

It must be incredibly hard for you Eric. At least the dreams are nice ones, but I'm sure they reinforce her absence. How are you doing?
