Today most bakeries drizzle them with a sweet glaze but I prefer them plain.

My mom made something like this one year, but it was a rabbit-shaped bread and the egg was its eye.
 

Religious dogma aside, Easter meant to me, a time devoid of the doldrums of winter. A time to enjoy meeting relatives, playing a game of softball among the dust & sagebrush' A time for rebirth. Eating a hot dog & attempting to roll an Easter egg down a hill. It was an excuse to attend a family reunion, as was the end of summer fair & parade in Sept. every year, Being a confirmed 'Agnostic' I enjoyed it for what it meant to me more than any other reason. And, it was the 1st good 'camping weekend'. of the year.
