..or know any stories of people who do eccentric things?

I was laughing earlier today, when I saw a neighbour who is my age, a really lovely friendly person, .. I've known her over 30 years. Her garage is not attached to her house, instead it's 3 or 400 yards along the lane from her house and past mine.. , and she parks it there, and walks home every day..but she has to drive past her own home too get to the garage.

Today I saw her emerge from where her car is parked with 2 very full shopping bags, and walk home past my house.. I stood there laughing at the fact that she'd driven right past her house with the heavy shopping, and not stopped and dropped it off first before heading to park the car.. I wonder if she even realised !!

I would probably do the same thing that your neighbor did.

For me, it would be more work to stop and then get back into the car to drive the additional 400 yards.

Most of my eccentric behavior revolves around being frugal/cheap. Things like rinsing out the ketchup bottle, cutting open the toothpaste tube, reusing plastic bread bags, etc...

In which case, since the definition of eccentric is Departing from a recognized, conventional, or established norm or pattern, she'd be eccentric if she DID drop her shopping at the house.
no you've got it wrong.. she doesn't normally do that... it was just something that I saw her do for the first time, and it struck me as an eccentric thing to do...

Well my son told me I'm "weird"...referring to the things I can do with my mind. For the same reason my Honorary Daughter says she's afraid of me (shocked the hell outta me when she told me that!). But I don't know of anyone calling me eccentric, though I probably am.
